Some secluded sound where gulls abound?<br />
Or maybe, Alice, you’d prefer<br />
to go among the maddened few<br />
who like to maunder on at court<br />
and drown their whimsy in the finest gin,<br />
who murder innocence with a sordid grin?<br />
You’re much too much yourself for that,<br />
wide-eyed and dreamy, ambitious girl.<br />
