Presentation of <strong>Valeo</strong> Service<br />
Under the responsibility of the Group’s Operations<br />
Department and in cooperation with the Business Groups/<br />
Product Groups, <strong>Valeo</strong> Service supplies original equipment<br />
spares (OES) to automakers and replacement parts to the<br />
independent aftermarket (IAM).<br />
Its role is to offer to all aftermarket channels worldwide a wide<br />
range of products and services to help boost the efficiency<br />
of repair services and to provide greater safety, comfort and<br />
driving pleasure to consum ers. <strong>Valeo</strong> Service also offers<br />
support and services that are constantly being enhanced<br />
and developed, in areas such as diagnostics, training, sales<br />
and marketing, and technical support.<br />
Through its OES customers for numbering a round<br />
100 customers including 40 major customers, and its IAM<br />
customers, approximately 2,500 major customers, <strong>Valeo</strong><br />
Service operates in over 100 countries with 13 sales divisions<br />
and 12 distribution platforms.<br />
<strong>Valeo</strong> Service – organized around five markets (Repair,<br />
Maintenance, Crash, Post-Equipment and Heavy-Duty<br />
Trucks) – offers 278 product lines for light, commercial and<br />
industrial vehicles, as well as trucks, covering the following<br />
systems: wiper systems (under the <strong>Valeo</strong>, Marchal, PJ and<br />
SWF brand names); transmissions; lighting and signaling;<br />
climate control; engine cooling; electrical systems; electrical<br />
accessories; security systems and switches; braking; engine<br />
management; engine filtration; and driving and parking<br />
assistance systems.<br />
<strong>2011</strong> highlights<br />
Customer satisfaction is a priority for <strong>Valeo</strong> Service. In <strong>2011</strong>,<br />
<strong>Valeo</strong>’s Aftermarket Business strengthened this commitment<br />
in order to offer its customers a genuine experience, based<br />
on product expertise related to complete systems and to<br />
its ability to create service offers that best suit the use of<br />
these systems. Here are some of the highlights from <strong>Valeo</strong>’s<br />
aftermarket strategy in <strong>2011</strong>:<br />
<strong>Valeo</strong> Service opened two new sales divisions: (i) in Japan,<br />
to strengthen synergies with its partner PIAA; and (ii) in<br />
Argentina, to support growth in this country with dedicated<br />
product lines and logistics solutions;<br />
The OES b usiness bases its strategy on that of <strong>Valeo</strong>’s<br />
four Business Groups, rolling out dedicated teams in China<br />
and South America to strengthen its product expertise and<br />
operate close to its customers in emerging markets;<br />
<strong>2011</strong> <strong>Registration</strong> D ocument - VALEO<br />
<strong>Valeo</strong> Service won the best sales and marketing support<br />
award from the distribution group Temot International;<br />
<strong>Valeo</strong> Service won the <strong>2011</strong> best supplier award, in the<br />
logistics class from the distribution group Groupauto<br />
International;<br />
<strong>Valeo</strong> simplified its filter systems and launched an entirely<br />
new range of air, oil and fuel filters offering both longer<br />
use and greater precision. <strong>Valeo</strong> focused in particular on<br />
making this new range easier to use, by offering the end<br />
user packaging that clearly identifies the type of product<br />
by color, with smart product reference codes that can be<br />
read on five sides of the packaging;<br />
<strong>Valeo</strong> Service also introduced an important packaging<br />
innovation for replacement parts: QR codes placed on the<br />
boxes of the Engine Filter range can be used to access<br />
installation videos for each type of product using a cell<br />
phone;<br />
<strong>Valeo</strong> expanded its range of technical parts for engine<br />
management (coils and spark and preheat plugs, EGR<br />
[exhaust gas recirculation ] valves, injectors and fuel pumps),<br />
by including a range of engine sensors to enable players in<br />
the Independent Aftermarket to have access to “valeorigin”<br />
parts to repair the most recent vehicles;<br />
special focus was placed on the offer available for parts<br />
for the growing number of Asian-made vehicles around<br />
the world; <strong>Valeo</strong>’s goal is to make these parts as widely<br />
available as for the dedicated ranges for European<br />
vehicles, with of course, the same quality and performance<br />
standards. This strategy focuses on the alternator, starter,<br />
clutch, condenser and wiper blades product lines;<br />
the alternative cost-effective <strong>Valeo</strong> CLASSIC range for<br />
vehicles over ten years old was launched in 2010, with<br />
100 alternator and starter references. This range was<br />
strengthened in <strong>2011</strong>: 32 clutch kits and 109 radiator<br />
references were added without compromising on quality<br />
or the services offered;<br />
the wiper motor range was updated with 155 new<br />
original equipment quality references available for repair<br />
professionals covering the best-selling passenger cars and<br />
industrial vehicles in Europe;<br />
a new catalogue was launched for the <strong>Valeo</strong> Silencio®<br />
wiper blade range. This catalogue uses QR codes that can<br />
be used to access installation videos from a cell phone and<br />
take virtual tours of our test laboratories; this helps improve<br />
customers’ knowledge about the product, and they are<br />
shown how to replace their wiper blades step by step;<br />
the Uni-Click ® universal connection system for wiper<br />
blades was rolled out for the respective offers of the <strong>Valeo</strong>,
