this <str<strong>on</strong>g>RFQ</str<strong>on</strong>g> without additi<strong>on</strong>al participati<strong>on</strong>? If not, can we complete the required subc<strong>on</strong>tract<br />
questi<strong>on</strong>naire and submit directly <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> SMART for prequalificati<strong>on</strong>?<br />
A2. Subc<strong>on</strong>trac<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs must be part of a design-build team <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> participate and cannot complete the<br />
required subc<strong>on</strong>tract questi<strong>on</strong>naire and submit directly <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> SMART for prequalificati<strong>on</strong>.<br />
Q3. Will the jet fans for Puer<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Suello Tunnel be installed under <str<strong>on</strong>g>CP4</str<strong>on</strong>g>?<br />
A3. There is no forced ventilati<strong>on</strong> required in the tunnel.<br />
Q4. Will a Computer-Aided Dispatch System be housed within the Operati<strong>on</strong>s C<strong>on</strong>trol Center OCC<br />
in the subject RFP?<br />
A4. This c<strong>on</strong>tract does not install the Computer-Aided Dispatch system <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> be housed within the<br />
OCC.<br />
Q5. What is the timing for issuing a Systems c<strong>on</strong>tract <str<strong>on</strong>g>RFQ</str<strong>on</strong>g>?<br />
A5. This C<strong>on</strong>tract Package 4 does not include the systems work.<br />

Old Redwood Highway, 1 st Floor C<strong>on</strong>ference Room, Petaluma, CA 94954 <strong>on</strong> 10/26/<strong>2012</strong> at<br />
10:00 a.m. General Manager, Farhad Mansourian welcomed the guests. Bill Gamlen, Chief<br />
Engineer, summarized SMART’s IOS-1 project and introduced Sheryl Brat<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>n, Legal Counsel <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
SMART, Mike Grodner, <str<strong>on</strong>g>CP4</str<strong>on</strong>g> Project Manager, Gregg Jennings, Sr. Rail Engineer, Erin<br />
McGrath, CFO, and LaV<strong>on</strong> Allan, C<strong>on</strong>tract Administra<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>r/point of c<strong>on</strong>tact. Mike Grodner<br />
presented an overview of the C<strong>on</strong>tract Package 4 (<str<strong>on</strong>g>CP4</str<strong>on</strong>g>) project and Gregg Jennings provided<br />
more informati<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> down<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>wn San Rafael (see attached PowerPoint slides). LaV<strong>on</strong> Allan<br />
reviewed the procurement schedule and highlights from the Request for Qualificati<strong>on</strong>s. A<br />
Questi<strong>on</strong> and Answer sessi<strong>on</strong> followed.<br />
Q6. Will grade crossings include gates and electr<strong>on</strong>ics?<br />
A6. No.<br />
Q7. Will this c<strong>on</strong>tract include passenger informati<strong>on</strong> systems?<br />
A7. The <str<strong>on</strong>g>CP4</str<strong>on</strong>g> C<strong>on</strong>tract will provide for future platform systems by providing c<strong>on</strong>duit in the pla<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>rms<br />
and assuring room in the platform shelters.<br />
Q8. Is c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> of platforms included or is it just the platform finishes?<br />
A8. C<strong>on</strong>tract Package 4 includes the c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> of ramps, stairs, path-of-travel improvements,<br />
canopies, railings and related platform finishes. The platform shells are being completed in the<br />
current IOS-1 design c<strong>on</strong>tract.<br />
Q9. Is the CCTV infrastructure in the Systems package?<br />
A9. The bulk of the infrastructure for Systems, like c<strong>on</strong>duits and back-b<strong>on</strong>e type stuff, is not included<br />
in this c<strong>on</strong>tract. There will probably be hand-off points from this c<strong>on</strong>tract <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Systems c<strong>on</strong>tract<br />
(between platforms, comm<strong>on</strong> pull boxes, etc.).<br />
