n Wheelhouse, his eighth studio album, Brad<br />
Paisley breaks with Music City protocol and<br />
produces himself for the first time. The country<br />
star and guitar-slinger extraordinaire even<br />
renovated an old farmhouse into a home studio<br />
to record his unique vision.<br />
Wheelhouse is a highly ambitious 17-track<br />
effort filled with special effects, overdubs,<br />
samples, and myriad guest cameos (Monty<br />
Python’s Eric Idle even shows up for a star<br />
turn). It’s also a mixed bag. Paisley seemingly<br />
experimented to his heart’s content in the studio.<br />
The release reflects the pros and cons of that<br />
