Operational Information • Priority should be given to prevent fire impacting on the<br />

margins of rainforest in gullies.<br />

• Do not backburn off Lady Carrington Drive.<br />

• Low hanging vegetation along Lady Carrington Drive may<br />

cause damage to Tankers.<br />

• Track conditions create access problems for heavy tankers.<br />

• If practicable vehicles should be restricted to formed trails.<br />

Do not displace rocks in this block (area surrounding Wises Track<br />

and Karani Trail are known Broad Headed Snake habitat).<br />

• Steep section on southern end of Wises Track (Heartbreak<br />

Hill) may require tankers/slip-ons to dump water to climb. 4WD<br />

access.<br />

• Wallumarra Track is dead end to vehicular access (joins<br />

walking track). Turn around bays present. 4WD access only.<br />

• Karani Trail dead end with turn around bays present. 4WD<br />

access only.<br />

• Chinaman’s Helipad on Sir Bertram Stevens Drive.<br />

• Vehicle water points: hydrants at Audley and Farnell Avenue.<br />

• Drafting points: upper causeway, Hacking River.<br />

• Helipads: Chinaman’s Helipad, Royal NP Office.<br />

Trails present • Lady Carrington Drive provides access to the western edge of<br />

the management area.<br />

• Eastern edge of management area is Sir Bertram Stevens<br />

Drive and Wises Track.<br />

• Wallumarra Track.<br />

• Karani Trail.<br />
