mind. Oh Rama, may you hear from me and not
slip from your memory the true significance of the
perfect Tatwa-Jnana. The longing after the impure
material enjoyments is itself bondage; the
renunciation of the same is Moksha of the nature of
Brahman. Of what avail are other paths, such as
the study of Sastras and others? You should,
without the least suffering of mind, walk in this
path of renunciation of desires. Now oh Rama, you
should consider as fire or poison all objects which
are said to be pleasant or otherwise. Repeatedly
should you be enquiring into all the painful
worldly enjoyments, differing in degrees; and
without letting your mind crave for them, if you
enjoy them lightly, you will never be affected
thereby and will find them pleasant. The
concretion of the powerful mind in objects is itself
the destruction of Atman; but with the destruction
of the mind, Atman begins to dawn. In the case of
Brahma Jnanis, their minds are extinct; but the
impure mind of Ajnanis proves their fetters. The
higher minds of Jnanis are with neither bliss nor
non-bliss, motion nor non-motion, Sat nor Asat;
