Bike Rides 2012
Cycling is fun, healthy and doesn’t cost
the Earth. Remember the enjoyment you
had when you got your first bike?
Recapture those days with a CTC
Calderdale Wildside Bike ride this
summer. CTC Calderdale is the local
group of CTC (Cyclists Touring Club) the
UK’s national cyclists’ organisation. In
association with Calderdale Countryside
Service, we have put together a series of
short bike rides. Come and join us !
• Scared of traffic? - Our rides feature
quiet roads and the traffic free
Hebble Trail/Calder Valley Cycleway;
• Worried about punctures?
- We will help you fix them;
• Don’t want to go too far? - Our rides
all start and finish at a local railway
station - did you know you can bring
your bike on the train?
• Don’t fancy hills? - We will walk them
if we have to!
Our rides are on the following Saturdays - 14th April;
12th May; 9th June and 14th July - see programme for details.
All you need is a roadworthy bike with good brakes – if you haven’t used
your bike for a while ask your local bike shop to check it for you.
Walk It Together is a programme of health walks organised
by NHS SWYPFT Health Improvement Service.
Health walks are short led walks in your local area at your own pace.
They’re a great way to be more active, improve your health and make new
friends. All walks are led by qualified, friendly walk leaders who will
welcome people to the group and offer support on the walk. The walks are
for people of all ages and abilities.
Walk It also provides free walk leader training to volunteers interested in
leading local walks.
The scheme is accredited by Walking for Health, offering walks for all
levels of fitness and meeting safety standards.
