Herbicides based on or containing any of the following will not be used<br />

under any circumstances:<br />

● 2.4.5T<br />

● Aldrin<br />

● substances from the triazine group<br />

● or any other nationally banned substance<br />

Current herbicide use is as follows:<br />

(a) The total, non-residual herbicide glyphosate will be used to<br />

control weeds on hard areas such as carriageways, cycleways,<br />

footways, kerblines and filter drains.The herbicide will be applied<br />

to the weed growth only.Application frequency will be once,<br />

twice or three times per annum to effect a reasonable control.<br />

At locations where the weeds are prevalent a total residual<br />

herbicide containing glyphosate and sulfosulfuron will be used.<br />

Under no circumstances will this herbicide be used near water<br />

or where it might enter a water course.<br />

(b) Total herbicides used as part of footway construction or highway<br />

maintenance works shall be applied as a preventative measure:<br />

• prior to application of thin surfacings, slurry seal, micro<br />

asphalt or surface dressing glyphosate and sulfosulfron;<br />

• as part of footway<br />

construction or<br />

reconstruction work<br />

glyphosate and<br />

sulfosulfrom where<br />

weeds are present.<br />

(c) The use of herbicides on<br />

vegetated areas is limited<br />

to the following:<br />

• glyphosate around the<br />

base of young trees<br />

or saplings, and for<br />

the control of
