Blodau syml pobl dlawd, The simple flowers of poor folk<br />

am eu lles yn fw y na’u llun. valued for their benefit more than their beauty.<br />
Dacw nhw y lili fach There they are, the little lily,<br />
mint a theim a mwsg , mint and thyme and musk,<br />
Y safri fach a’r lafant pêr the tiny savoury and lavender,<br />
a llwyn o focs ynghwsg. and sleepy box bush,<br />
Dwy neu dair briallen ffel two or three pretty primroses<br />
a daffodil bid siwr, and a daffodil of course,<br />
A’r cyfan yn y border bach everything in a little border<br />
yng ngofal rhyw hen wr. cared for by some old man.<br />
Dyna nhw’r gwerinaidd lu Here they are, the peasant crowd,<br />
heb un yn gwadu’i ach with no-one denying his roots,<br />
A gwelais wenyn gerddi’r Plas and I saw bees from the Palace gardens<br />
ym mlodau’r border bach. in the little border’s flowers.<br />
O bellter byd rwy’n dod o hyd From the end of the world I still come<br />
i’w gweld dan haul a gwlith, to see them, in sun and de w,<br />
A briw i’m bron fu cael pw y ddydd and it hurt my heart the other day<br />
heb gennad yn eu plith. to see amongst them, unbidden,<br />
Hen estron gwyllt o ddant y llew a wild foreign dandelion<br />
a dirmyg lond ei wên, with his smile contemptuous and bold –<br />
Sut gwyddai’r hen droseddwr hy, how did the impudent scoundrel know<br />
fod mam yn mynd yn hen? my mother was getting old?<br />

8 Luned Luned<br />
Diolch am Weddi’r Arglwydd, Thanks be for the Lord’s Prayer,<br />
Diolch i’r hwn a’i rhoes thanks be to the One who ga ve it<br />
Yn llwybr i ni ddyfod as a path to tread<br />
At Dduw ym more oes. to God in our childhood.<br />
Diolch am gael ei dysgu We give thanks for being able to learn it<br />
A’i hadrodd yn ein hiaith, and express it in our tongue,<br />
Diolch am ei goleuni thanks be for its light<br />
I’n tywys ar ein taith. to guide us on our way.<br />
Diolch am fodd i wybod Thanks be for the knowledge<br />
Na phalla gofal Duw, that God’s care will not cease,<br />
Mae gair â’r Iesu’n ddigon a word with Jesus is enough,<br />
Gwrandawr gweddi yw. he listens to our prayers.<br />
Diolch fo gair ein calon May thanks be in our heart<br />
A diolch fyth fo’n llef and thanks be our cr y<br />
Wrth ufuddhau i’r Iesu as we obey Jesus<br />
A dweud ei Weddi Ef. and say His Prayer.<br />
9 Dal Ein Tir Holding Our Ground<br />
Mae gwyntoedd oer dros dir ein gwlad The winds are cold over our country’s land<br />
A’u cân ddolefus brudd singing a sad lament.<br />
A daw, daw newydd ddydd We must call everyone to battle<br />
Rhaid galw pawb i faes y gad. and yes, a new day will come.<br />
Daeth llanw’r môr i chwalu ein byd The incoming tide has wrecked our world,<br />
Ton ar ôl ton i’r lan wave after wave on the shore.<br />
Pob un gymuned ym mhob cwm Every community in every valley<br />
Heddiw’n llesg a gwan today is weak and weary.<br />
Rhaid ei hadfer yn ôl, a daliwn ein tir We must revive them, and hold our ground,<br />
Fel un, mynnwn godi llais dros y gwir. as one, we must raise our voices for truth.<br />
Rhaid yw cadw ein ffydd We must keep our faith<br />
rhag crino’n y gwynt from withering in the wind.<br />
Ein braint yw rhoi ein hiaith ar w aith, Our privilege is to put our language to w ork<br />
Fel yn y dyddiau gynt as in days of old.<br />
