The Accompanists Annette Bryn Parri is one of Wales’ leading and most versatile pianists, featuring regularly as accompanist on recordings, TV programs and concerts. As well as a soloist in her own right, she lives her musical life to the full as a conductor, tutor, producer, arranger and composer. Catrin Finch is rapidly becoming the symbol of the ne w harp age; a masterful and adventurous harpist, her style reflects her personality – colourful, confident and completely natural. Celticana is a quartet of talented young women from West Wales who met as members of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, who trained as musicians in London together, and can now perform with great vivacity everything from the classics to rock. Rhys Wyn Parry is one of the most prominent musicians in the field of Welsh popular and rock music, but his prowess as a guitarist extends to all musical st yles, and Nigel Hopkins is one of those rare creatures – a firstrate instrumentalist who is also a sound engineer and accomplished producer. As well as prominent names from the past, suc h as Joseph Parry, and more recent ones such as Gilmor Griffiths and Ryan Davies, the songs of four contemporary composers are featured. Rhys Jones has recently published a new collection of solos with his friend Aled Lloyd Davies, one of which is included here. His daughter Caryl Parry Jones is one of her generation’s most productive and popular composer-arrangers. Eric Jones is confirming his reputation as a composer for choirs and soloists, and Robat Arwyn, a school friend of Bryn Terfel, is one of those rare composers who ha ve become a legend in their own lifetime.
