Re: Assignment <strong>of</strong> Service Agreemenf reqarding <strong>Sheridan</strong> <strong>Villa</strong><br />
In March 2007, all service agreements between the Ministry <strong>of</strong> Health and Long-Term<br />
Care and Long-Term Care Home (LTCH) operators were assigned to the LHINs. Section<br />
2 <strong>of</strong> the assignment states:<br />
2. The Agreement is terminated pursuant to subsection ?9(5) <strong>of</strong> the Act upon the<br />
earlier <strong>of</strong>:<br />
(a) March 31, 2009 or such later date as the Ministry specifies:<br />
I am writing to specify the date <strong>of</strong> March 31,2010 as the date when the service<br />
agreements assigned to your LHlN effective April 1, 2007 and still in effect as <strong>of</strong> March 31,<br />
2009 wiff terminate. For greater clarity, the date <strong>of</strong> March 31, 2010 is being specified by<br />
the Ministry for all assigned LTCH agreements that have been transferred to your LHlN<br />
effective April I, 2007 and that are still valid and subsisting as <strong>of</strong> March 31,2009.<br />
This new specified date applies to any termination dates for interim and convalescent care<br />
beds, but not to any termination dates for beds in abeyance in the assigned LTCH<br />
agreements.<br />

As <strong>of</strong> April I, 201 0 the LHlN will enter into service accountability agreements under the<br />
Local Health System integration Act, 2006 and the Commifmenf to the Future <strong>of</strong> Medicare<br />
Act, 2004 with LTCH operators.<br />
