V. STATUS OF ROADS AND BRIDGES<br />

1. Kalinga-Abra Road (Talalang Section) – CLOSED TO TRAFFIC due to landslides<br />

• Ongoing road clearing operations<br />

2. Shilan-Beckel Road, La Trinidad – CLOSED TO TRAFFIC due to landslides<br />

• Ongoing road clearing operations<br />

3. Kennon Road, Camp 3 – OPEN TO LIGHT VEHICLES ONLY due to <strong>re</strong>curring slides<br />

• Further road clearing operations due to <strong>re</strong>curring slides<br />

4. Magapit Suspension Bridge, Lallo, Cagayan – CLOSED TO TRAFFIC due to ongoing<br />

<strong>re</strong>habilitation works.<br />

VI. SEAPORT OPERATIONS<br />

• Brooke’s Point to Mapun, Cagayan Tawi-Tawi – <strong>re</strong>sumed operations<br />

• Coron to Manila, Liminangcong to Manila via El Nido and Coron - Cancelled<br />

VII. EMERGENCY PREPAREDENESS AND RESPONSE:<br />

A. <strong>NDRRMC</strong><br />

• Disseminated <strong>NDRRMC</strong> Advisories on Seve<strong>re</strong> Weather Bulletins; Gale Warnings and<br />

Flood Advisories to all <strong>re</strong>gions affected through SMS and facsimile, uploaded the same<br />

at the <strong>NDRRMC</strong> Website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts for further dissemination to<br />

their <strong>re</strong>spective local Dis<strong>as</strong>ter Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs)<br />

from the provincial down to the municipal levels<br />

• Di<strong>re</strong>cted RDRRMCs concerned through the OCD Regional Centers to undertake<br />

p<strong>re</strong>cautionary me<strong>as</strong>u<strong>re</strong>s in their <strong>re</strong>spective a<strong>re</strong><strong>as</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>re</strong>sponsibility (AOR) and<br />

subsequently advised local DRRMCs to initiate p<strong>re</strong>-emptive evacuation <strong>of</strong> families in lowlying<br />

and mountainous a<strong>re</strong><strong>as</strong> if situation warrants<br />

• <strong>NDRRMC</strong>–OPCEN w<strong>as</strong> activated effective 11:00 AM, 13 June 2012 under “Blue Alert”<br />

status in view <strong>of</strong> the entry <strong>of</strong> <strong>Typhoon</strong> “<strong>BUTCHOY</strong>” (GUCHOL) in the Philippine A<strong>re</strong>a <strong>of</strong><br />

Responsibility. Consequently, due to the closing <strong>of</strong> TS <strong>BUTCHOY</strong> to the country, Alert<br />

Level at the <strong>NDRRMC</strong> OPCEN w<strong>as</strong> upgraded from BLUE to RED ALERT STATUS<br />

effective 8:00 PM, 15 June 2012. All <strong>NDRRMC</strong> member agencies we<strong>re</strong> <strong>re</strong>qui<strong>re</strong>d to send<br />

<strong>re</strong>p<strong>re</strong>sentative/s at the <strong>NDRRMC</strong> Operations Center for quick coordination with their<br />

<strong>re</strong>spective counterparts at the local level in view <strong>of</strong> the possible adverse effects the<br />

p<strong>re</strong>sent weather disturbance may bring.<br />

• PAGASA advised the Magat FFWS Dam Office <strong>re</strong> Commencement <strong>of</strong> P<strong>re</strong>paratory Ph<strong>as</strong>e<br />

<strong>of</strong> Flood Warning Operation dated 14 June 2012 at 11:00 AM. <strong>NDRRMC</strong> OPCEN<br />

disseminated to OCD Region II<br />

• OPCEN coordinated with AFP for an aircraft to be p<strong>re</strong>positioned at Lep<strong>as</strong>pi City.<br />

• The Office <strong>of</strong> the P<strong>re</strong>sident through the Executive Sec<strong>re</strong>tary instructed the <strong>NDRRMC</strong> to<br />

p<strong>re</strong>pa<strong>re</strong> a briefing for the P<strong>re</strong>sident’s app<strong>re</strong>ciation <strong>re</strong>garding the p<strong>re</strong>parations <strong>of</strong> TY<br />

<strong>BUTCHOY</strong> (GUCHOL)
