In terms of loss of lines of BCVA at the end of the follow-up nine and three % of the eyes
after PRK and LASIK respectively lost two or more lines of BCVA. Comparative analysis
at 12 months showed a higher incidence of eyes that gained one or more lines of BCVA
after LASIK (66%) than after PRK (23%). Twenty-three and 10% of eyes lost one or more
lines of BCVA after PRK and LASIK respectively. Comparison of postoperative
outcomes of MRSE between PRK and LASIK at six and twelve months was not
statistically significant (p>0.05). No eye in either group showed an increase in
astigmatism >2.0 D compared to preoperative values.
