RACE 4 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
Emerging Grin, TBA to M. Saftic
Im Feeling Good, J. Jamieson to M. Baillargeon
4th Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
3 CIONA BROMACH fits best from a talent standpoint when he competes at the bottom level as is the case tonight. I can’t predict a low priced
favourite in the kick off leg of the early pick 4 wager. Several that look to be contenders might be offering reasonable rewards is my guess. I’ll count
on Moiseyev to work the trip details well enough to produce the predicted victory.
4 DRACONIAN might be dangerous to overlook. The runner-up result at Flamboro was an okay effort. The money earned still allows him to
compete in the lowest classification now that he’s back to Woodbine to try again. Zeron has a reasonable chance to finish 1-2-3 with him in this spot
with the competition as it is.
1 MIDNITE ROMP was treated kindly by Zeron last time and not asked to work too hard from post 8. He did pass some rivals to get him the
smallest purse share. He’s a good fit when compared to the other nine races that are contesting this Nw5000l5 event. Give him a look when
considering pick 4 options.
6 IM FEELIN GOOD followed along to finish with a fringe result last time. He’ll have to take a more aggressive approach in this spot if he is going to
be an impact player. We might see that improvement—we might not. I’ll be somewhat interested if the price is right but wouldn’t consider if odds
are too low for the risk involved.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
(2) CHASIN RACIN has a classification change to consider. He’s back to the lowest level of competition again. He had some top three results a
while back in this same classification.
(5) EMERGING GRIN has been an all or nothing performer this year. His only finish in the top three shows up in the win column. That score was an
upset victory (19-1) over Flamboro rivals on January 20. I can only give him upset status.
(7) MANCHESTER HANOVER beat one rival last time when he dropped to the bottom rung on the class ladder. Races prior to that were in higher
categories. ON March 11 he competed at this level and was beaten by a half length. I might be underestimating his chances. Beware!
(8) AZOREAN SAILOR could finish with a top three result if Waples kicks in with one of his best drives. An up close trip is possible if early speed is
asked for.
(9) TWIN B WARRIOR should be very competitive on any night when given the opportunity to race in this category but that has not been the case
recently. Gillis hasn’t been setting the world on fire over the last little while. I keep thinking that he will start to win races on a more regular basis.
It’s your call.
(10) VAL AMERICA lost some of his appeal when post 10 was his fate in the post position draw. He might struggle to beat that handicap is the
guess that I am going to make.
