RACE 3 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
Aslan, C. Christoforou to J. Jamieson
3rd Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
3 CHEYENNE MOISHE was a fringe player in each of his last two. One of those races started from post 10. That’s reason enough to give him
some allowance for the third place finish. Last time he didn’t have the goods to finish higher than the fourth spot. Montini might send him with more
horsepower tonight if he thinks he can beat them all.
7 GABLE BLUE CHIP has second start status for current trainer Richard Moreau. The outside post position at London helped to put him into a
tough spot that day. Not too many can over that half-miler when trailing eight rivals in the early stages. He has a license to improve tonight. The
price should be more lucrative this time.
1 GOTTA GO HANOVER could only chase the fired up Goban last time. The majority of bettors had this pacer pegged as the one to beat in that
contest. Maybe tonight he will produce a make amends result for those that come back to give him another try. Christoforou will book off his other
option to keep the O’Sullivan connection alive.
8 SAVANNAH SPLENDOR had everything working when he scored for a 9-1 longshot win on April 15. I think his trainer had two upsetters on that
program. His failure as the race favourite last time wasn’t a big surprise. He might make a quick rebound to regain winning status this night if Zeron
can help with one of his best drives.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
Race 3: Driver/Trainer Combination
Horse # Driver Trainer Starts Win % R.O.I.
4 M Saftic J Shea 3 0% $0.00
6 Ph Hudon K Switzer 2 0% $0.00
7 S Filion R Moreau 566 17% $1.48
8 S Zeron R Van Meer 27 25% $4.76
(2) WARRAWEE NONSUCH races for a trainer that can be dangerous on occasion. He sent this pacer out to upset at 7-1 two back. The follow up
last time wasn’t nearly as productive. What’s your guess about tonight?
(4) GIDDY UP BLACKFLY was considered for the top spot briefly when I was leaning towards a longshot top selection to finish off the first pick 3
wager on the program. The winners of the first two legs of that wager are quite possibly going to be race favourites. It might not hurt to try for an
upset in this race.
(5) ASLAN has not been in competition since March 18. That factor should be enough to cause many handicappers to take a pass and wait for next
time when the results of this race can be assessed.
(6) MACHAL JORDAN should be offering a price in the upset/longshot range. In comments above I suggested that we might see a surprise in this
race. My selections might not reflect that theory but I’m not going to eliminate the longshots completely. Hudon need some racing luck to help him
out.
