RACE 6 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
Stonebridge Wish, Ra .Waples to S. Zeron
6th Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
7 THEPANINSULAHOTEL looks like he can be a major player in this spot. If enough handicappers give up on Mystician he could be the most
popular in the field but I’ll tab him as the second choice in the morning line. Trainer Gary Kingshott looks to have him in a spot where has a big
chance to improve the win total for the year to three.
2 MYSTICIAN should be able to beat competition in this range without any problem but he didn’t do it last time. He’s the probable favourite again
but won’t be my number one choice. If he does beat my selection It won’t be a big shocker by any means. Gillis has indicated in the past that he’s
best in the cooler/cold weather and it is only going to get warmer from this point onward.
1 MONTE CRISTO is due to show us a winning performance sometime soon. I thought that he might have to settle for a lesser reward tonight. The
top two choices might be too tough for him if both race at their highest standards. Maybe consider for use in the triactor and the superfecta as one
option.
8 JUNIOR K should go too much longer before he has another victory on his summary. Mayotte gave him a good try last time but he wasn’t quite
good enough to get the job done. He’s not out of his element when competing at this level or one notch lower. Longshot odds would make him
interesting enough but we might not see a big price.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
Race 6: Driver/Trainer Combination
Horse # Driver Trainer Starts Win % R.O.I.
1 Ri Zeron E Ruppert 20 15% $2.08
2 J Jamieson J Gillis 282 20% $1.25
3 Ja Macdonald B Shakes 8 0% $0.00
4 B Davis Jr V Puddy 96 15% $2.94
5 S Zeron C Johnson 0 0% $0.00
6 M Saftic J Ritchie 9 11% $3.10
7 J Moiseyev G Kingshott 11 0% $0.00
8 R Mayotte R Davies 42 7% $0.68
9 Ra Waples R Van Meer 10 0% $0.00
(3) HILARIOUS HALO has play soon status. I’m gong to delay a higher rating for at least one more race and then it might be time to jump onto the
bandwagon.
(4) ROETHBLISSBERGER has been hinting that he might win sometime soon. I wasn’t willing to make that prediction tonight but will keep close
tabs on him in the weeks to come.
(5) STONEBRIDGE WISH didn’t eat $15,000 claimers last time. The best in this race are much better than that. Waples was the first choice driver
with the option to choose Wild Dragon if he preferred that rival.
(6) THE LADIES MAN has one finish in each of the top three positions since starting his comeback. He could have been listed in the top four
without too much second guessing in a race where some of those highest positions are up for grabs.
(9) WILD DRAGON might be more interesting if his trainer had success with an earlier starter. I’ll consider a ratings upgrade prior to the race
depending on race night information and observations.
