DELAWARE<br />

H.B. 84<br />

Provides for a Money Management Program for certain specific<br />

needy older people. The Money Management Program uses<br />

volunteers to help older people, or people with disabilities<br />

organize expenses and paying bills. Under this act Delaware’s<br />

program would be a joint project between the AARP and the<br />

Department <strong>of</strong> Health and Social Services (DHSS) and would<br />

target low-income older people, and people with disabilities<br />

who are at risk because <strong>of</strong> their inability to manage their financial<br />

affairs. The Division <strong>of</strong> Services for Aging, and Adults with<br />

Physical Disabilities would be responsible for managing the<br />

program, screening volunteers, training volunteers and monitoring<br />

volunteer/client accounts.<br />
