1. Application
Enclosure heaters have been developed and designed to prevent condensation and facilitate the
permanent circulation of air. This helps to prevent the formation of hot spots. The enclosure heater is
designed to be fitted in either a vertical or horizontal position.
3. Assembly instructions
Prior to mounting, ensure that
• the site of the enclosure and hence the arrangement of the enclosure heater, is selected in such a
way as to ensure good ventilation;
• the location is free from excessive dirt and moisture;
• the mains connection ratings, as stated on the name plate of the unit, are available;
• the ambient temperature does not exceed +65°C;
• the packaging does not show any signs of damage;
• all components are adequately secured:
• the contact surfaces are clean and even;
• air inlet and outlet are not obstructed on the inside of the enclosure;
• electrical connection and repairs must only be carried out by authorised, qualified staff; use only
original spare parts!
Safety instructions
,
! Make sure that no flammable gases or readily inflammable components come into contact with, or
are extracted by, the enclosure heater.
! Make sure that there is sufficient space for ventilation around the enclosure heater.

4. Electrical connection
• The connection voltage and frequency must match the nominal values specified on the
rating plate.
• The heater module does not contain ist own heater module should be connected to the
mains via a dsconnecting device which guarantees a contact opening of at least 3 mm in
the deactivated state, e.g. a motor circuit-breaker.
• The PE condutor must be connected.
• An additional temperature control may be connected upstream of the device at the
supply end.
• The device does not contain its own electrical fuse; consequently, the pre-fuse specified
on the rating plate must be provided as line protection
• Typenschild angegebene Vorsicherung vorgesehen werden.
Please observe the locally valid refulations when installing!
• Make the AC connection using a 3-wire cable with wire end ferrules (crimp connection)
brown = L
blue = N
green/yellow = PE
5. Maintenance
5.1 General
• Depending on the level of contamination of the ambient air, the unit must be serviced at
least twice a year.
• Cleaning, maintenance and repair work to the unit must only be carried out by
authorised, trained staff.
• Before carrying out any repair work, the system must be disconnected from the mains
• Only original spare parts must be used.
5.2 Cleaning the enclosure heater
If contaminated with dry dust, blowing out with compressed air is sufficient for cleaning purposes.
6. Supply includes
1 heater module, ready for connection,
1 set of assembly and operating instuctions
7. Approvals
the units comply with the provisions for attaining the CE-symbol:
• Low voltage directive (NSR) 73/23 EWG und 93/68 EEC
• EN 60950
• EN 55 022 Klasse B
• EN 50082-2
