KUBA – Eine neue Generation
„Slanted #21: CUBA – The New
Generation“ präsentiert aktuelles
Design, Fotografie, Illustration und
Typografie aus Kuba. Besonderes
Augenmerk wird dabei auf die ku-
banische Plakatkunst gelegt – viele
Arbeiten wurden noch nie außerhalb
Kubas gezeigt.
CUBA – The New Generation
“Slanted #21: CUBA – The New
Generation” presents current design,
photography, illustrations and ty-
pography from Cuba. In focus: Cuban
poster art. Many of the works have
never been shown outside of Cuba.

2005 stolperte Florian Kaps auf
einem Flohmarkt über seine erste
Polaroid-Kamera, verliebte sich in
diese und beschloss, sich künftig aus-
schließlich der analogen Sofortbild-
fotografie zu widmen. 2008 rettete er
die letzte Polaroid-Fabrik, um auch
im 21. Jahrhundert neue Filme für
alte Polaroid-Kameras herzustellen.
Das unmögliche Sofortbild
Zur Überraschung aller wird eine
Erfindung aus dem Jahr 1947 heute
von immer mehr Interessierten und
Faszinierten als das immer noch
magische, aber auch als das vielleicht
innovativste photographische Medi-
um der Jetztzeit entdeckt.
At a flea market in 2005 Florian Kaps
stumbled across his first Polaroid
camera, fell in love with it and decid-
ed, in future, to dedicate himself solely
to analogue instant photography. In
2008, he rescued the last Polaroid
factory so that new films could be
produced for old Polaroid cameras
even in the 21st century.

To everyone’s surprise, an invention
from the year 1947 is seen today by
an increasing number of interested
and fascinated people as still being
the most magical, but also perhaps
most innovative photographic me-
dium of the present day.
