Dear Friends <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Samuel</strong> Foundation!<br />
Even though the year 20<strong>12</strong> is already <strong>in</strong> full sw<strong>in</strong>g, I would like to<br />
<strong>in</strong>vite you to look back with us at the past year. In 2011, the staff <strong>of</strong><br />
the <strong>Samuel</strong> Foundation once aga<strong>in</strong> put all their efforts <strong>in</strong>to the<br />
implementation <strong>of</strong> our tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g programme, <strong>in</strong> order to create<br />
future prospects to as many young people as possible. All <strong>in</strong> all,<br />
269 students successfully completed their pr<strong>of</strong>essional tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
our tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g centres <strong>in</strong> India, Nicaragua and <strong>Costa</strong> <strong>Rica</strong>. These are<br />
82 % <strong>of</strong> those who started their tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g 16-19 months ago.<br />
Despite rather difficult conditions due to the general economic<br />
situation, 181 students, which is around 67 % <strong>of</strong> all graduates, had<br />
obta<strong>in</strong>ed a permanent employment by the end <strong>of</strong> January – 42 <strong>of</strong><br />
them <strong>in</strong> India, 62 <strong>in</strong> <strong>Costa</strong> <strong>Rica</strong> and 77 <strong>in</strong> Nicaragua. In Thailand,<br />
all <strong>of</strong> our 24 <strong>Samuel</strong> students passed to the next respective grade.<br />

<strong>of</strong> which are already work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> their pr<strong>of</strong>ession. Of course, the <strong>Samuel</strong> Foundation will concentrate its<br />
efforts to f<strong>in</strong>d adequate employment for the rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g 30 % as soon as possible.<br />
To all <strong>of</strong> you, who aga<strong>in</strong> actively supported us <strong>in</strong> 2011, I would like to say thank you, and share with you<br />
some pictures <strong>of</strong> our proud and overjoyed graduates.<br />

Now, she received her vocational college diploma.<br />
In 2011, Orathai Djaikamfu successfully f<strong>in</strong>ished the theoretical part <strong>of</strong> her teach<strong>in</strong>g degree.<br />
She is now complet<strong>in</strong>g her practical tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> school.

students not only presented dance acts, but also sang live accompanied by guitars and drums and<br />
