I would like to thank the many competent,
committed managers and employees of our
magnesium plant in Bécancour, Canada,
which began the process in March of shutting
down production after 20 years in
business.
Despite their best efforts running one of
the most advanced magnesium plants in
the world, they could not compete with lowcost
suppliers in Asia. They are preparing
for closure and preparing themselves for a
new future with our help. You can read more
about the employees at Bécancour in this
issue. Join me in wishing them the best of
luck in this challenging time.
