Motor connection
The increasing relocation of control and switching
components from the control cabinet to the system process
and the demand for additional distributed functions to
relieve central PLCs has increased the popularity of
distributed drive components.
Lenze offers the 8200 motec frequency inverter for the
electronic speed adjustment of geared motors and the
starttec motor starter as solutions for distributed drive
tasks.
Below are some features which characterise the starttec
motor starter:
Simple
˘ Integrated step switch for setting the rated motor
current (comparable with the conventional motor
protection switch)
˘ Integrated potentiometer for setting the acceleration
time (0 to 3 s)
˘ No other basic settings required
Safe
˘ Input for evaluating the motor PTC or thermal contact
˘ Electronic motor protection (I 2 t) with adjustable
characteristics
˘ Mains phase failure recognition
˘ On-site diagnostics via status displays (2 LED on the
starttec)
˘ Configurable fault reset
˘ Wear free (electronic power switches instead of
electromechanical switching elements)
The starttec motor starter switches geared motors that are
"directly coupled to the mains". This occurs electronically
and, thus, does not create wear. However, the starttec
can do much more than perform switching operations, of
course. It is, for example, ideally suited to automation tasks.

range 1.0 to 9.5 A

˘ Power bus makes installation easier ("loop-through
connection" rather than star wiring)
