Position Available: Economics <strong>of</strong> Food Policy and <strong>Nutrition</strong><br />
Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Agricultural and Resource Economics<br />
Full-time (30% teaching, 70% research), 9-month tenure-track,<br />
position effective 7/1/98.<br />
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics or<br />
economics is required. The candidate must have a demonstrated trac<br />
record <strong>of</strong> commitmenttoteaching and performing research on<br />
prob’ems in the area <strong>of</strong> food, agricultural, and nuthtion policy,<br />
domestic and intemational. The candidate must have a strong<br />
background in econometrics and/or quantitative methods.<br />
Research: The incumbent is expected to conduct theoretical,<br />
conceptual, and quantitative research on policies on food and related<br />
resources, nutrition, and human and environmental safety and health.<br />
Issues thatmay be addressed include food and nutrition demand, the<br />
economics <strong>of</strong> nutritional status and well-being, food and nutrition<br />
information and intervention policies, economics <strong>of</strong>food and<br />
environmental safety, the economics <strong>of</strong> food systems, food security,<br />
and nutrition and food problems in economic development.<br />
Teaching: Two semesters <strong>of</strong> undergraduate and/or graduate courses<br />
and one graduate or undergraduate seminar per year.<br />
