How the Salmon Was Saved<br />

Once upon a time there was a<br />

little salmon who was swimming<br />

in the river and all <strong>of</strong> a sudden a<br />

girl threw in a plastic bag that was<br />

full <strong>of</strong> an oily black liquid. The poor<br />

little salmon’s tail got stuck in a<br />

small hole in the plastic bag and<br />

now he couldn’t move. Because <strong>of</strong><br />

the black liquid he couldn’t breath<br />

and started to suffocate.<br />

Out <strong>of</strong> nowhere a girl scout<br />

hovered over the river and a hand<br />

gently picked up the little salmon<br />

and put it in a clean bowl <strong>of</strong> water.<br />

Then she lightly took the bag <strong>of</strong>f<br />

the salmon’s tail and put the bag<br />

in a bucket. Then she pulled out an<br />

empty water bottle and scooped all<br />

the black oily liquid from the river<br />

into a bottle and put the lid back on<br />

the bottle. Then the girl carefully<br />

poured the little salmon out <strong>of</strong> the<br />

bowl and the little salmon stuck<br />

his head out <strong>of</strong> the new fresh<br />

water and cocked his head twice<br />

as a “thank you.” That is how the<br />

salmon was saved.<br />

Pollution<br />

Hello, I’m Kermit the frog. And, I live in a local stream. Me and my friend,<br />

Carrie, are playing on a rock. Then I saw this mysterious object and I<br />

hopped to it.<br />

Once I took a closer look, I realized it was a pop holder. And, it was too<br />

late. I slipped and got the pop holder around my neck.<br />

I was suffocating and thinking it was over. Then a brown-haired boy picked<br />

me up and tugged <strong>of</strong>f the pop holder. I was blessed, but most frogs don’t<br />

get so lucky. I think we all learned a valuable lesson – NEVER POLLUTE!!!<br />

Nuts - squirrels love to eat them.<br />

The Ducks trying to find food.<br />
