S<strong>in</strong>ce many years many <strong>LRT</strong> operators use our almost ma<strong>in</strong>tenance free track system INPLACE. The<br />
advantage of our system is it can be adopted to any local situation. It will be executed either as a<br />
monolithic panel or pl<strong>in</strong>th which will be the basis of:<br />
a classical grass track or<br />
a closed track with concrete bricks or asphalt surface<br />
Even for the execution of track l<strong>in</strong>es with comb<strong>in</strong>ed different gauges or cross-over of tracks the system<br />
INPLACE will be <strong>in</strong>stalled <strong>in</strong> the meantime.<br />
For track renewal or clos<strong>in</strong>g of track dur<strong>in</strong>g possession we <strong>de</strong>veloped a special TRAVETTOprefabricated<br />
track panel which guarantees a fast execution with a fixed gauge. The panels will be<br />
prefabricated us<strong>in</strong>g a special shutter<strong>in</strong>g system which allows for the prefabrication of different track<br />
geometries.<br />
TRAVETTO can <strong>in</strong>stall the track itself or provi<strong>de</strong> the relevant special tools and equipment for the track<br />
<strong>in</strong>stallation as well as the <strong>in</strong>struction to enable local contractors to perform the work.<br />
TRAVETTO is also the competent partner for the realisation of any special form of slab track <strong>in</strong><br />

The TRAVETTO-INPLACE system<br />
is a monolithic slab track system<br />
with <strong>in</strong> situ concrete construction.<br />
The concrete-sleeper componets<br />
are imbed<strong>de</strong>d <strong>in</strong> concrete of the<br />
slab track <strong>in</strong> accordance with the<br />
„top down method“ and by means<br />
of a special track adjust<strong>in</strong>g<br />
system.

Due to the top down method<br />
<strong>de</strong>veloped by TRAVETTO the great<br />
number of measur<strong>in</strong>g processes of<br />
conventional constructions is reduced<br />
to one s<strong>in</strong>gle adjust<strong>in</strong>g measurement<br />
of the track panel when start<strong>in</strong>g the<br />
construction process.<br />
For the track lay<strong>in</strong>g it is possible to<br />
take the measurement directly at the<br />
rail. By means of the track adjust<strong>in</strong>g<br />
system TRAVETTO the gauge and<br />
rail <strong>in</strong>cl<strong>in</strong>ation are <strong>de</strong>f<strong>in</strong>itely adjusted<br />
and guarantee a maximum of lay<strong>in</strong>g<br />
and <strong>in</strong>stallation precision.

Due to the monolithic construction<br />
the TRAVETTO-INPLACE system allows<br />
to optimise the re<strong>in</strong>forcement of the<br />
Longitud<strong>in</strong>al concrete beams or the<br />
concrete plate and to adapt it to the<br />
local conditions. Spac<strong>in</strong>g jo<strong>in</strong>ts and fitt<strong>in</strong>g<br />
pieces are no longer necessary.<br />
It is possible to use different rail bedd<strong>in</strong>g<br />
systems without additional drill<strong>in</strong>g of the<br />
concrete beams which safely and reliably<br />
exclu<strong>de</strong>s a damage to the re<strong>in</strong>forcement<br />
and consequently a <strong>de</strong>cisive weaken<strong>in</strong>g<br />
of the re<strong>in</strong>forcement.

sections) <strong>in</strong>stead of parallel<br />
longitud<strong>in</strong>al concrete beams (pl<strong>in</strong>ths).<br />
This allows to build-<strong>in</strong> all k<strong>in</strong>ds of<br />
track cover<strong>in</strong>gs such as poured<br />
asphalt, pavement or even<br />
“elevated gras”. In addition,<br />
this construction will <strong>in</strong>crease the<br />
variability and adaptability –<br />
even with difficult track geometry:<br />

The slab track system TRAVETTO–INPLACE allows for many <strong>de</strong>signs of the<br />
f<strong>in</strong>ished surface.<br />
Different cross sections – either as green track with gras or as cont<strong>in</strong>uous<br />
concrete slab – are possible. Also the comb<strong>in</strong>ed use of track related and<br />
<strong>in</strong>dividual vehicles can be offered by the <strong>in</strong>stallation as slab track with<br />
bitum<strong>in</strong>ous or brick surface.<br />
S<strong>in</strong>ce 2000 the system TRAVETTO-INPLACE is service proven and used by<br />
operators like <strong>in</strong> Bielefeld, Frankfort, Stuttgart and Gera with success.<br />
In 2005 the system INPLACE will be <strong>in</strong>stalled <strong>in</strong> Hanover as the only slab<br />
track system over a length of 8.6 km, a major <strong>in</strong>vestment of a complete new<br />
public <strong>LRT</strong> l<strong>in</strong>e.<br />
