The <strong>LCS</strong>-<strong>AP</strong> protocol supports location services in E-UTRAN. The <strong>LCS</strong>-<strong>AP</strong> message<br />
set is applicable to the SLs interface between the E-SMLC and the MME.<br />
<strong>LCS</strong>-<strong>AP</strong> signaling messages are transported over Internet Protocol (IP) using<br />
the services of the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP).<br />
The Location Services Application Protocol (<strong>LCS</strong>-<strong>AP</strong>)<br />
module is suitable for supporting location services<br />
over SCTP in E-UTRAN. <strong>LCS</strong>-<strong>AP</strong> implements the SLs<br />
interface between the E-SMLC and MME as defined<br />
by 3GPP.<br />
The <strong>LCS</strong>-<strong>AP</strong> protocol module is fully integrated in<br />
<strong>Tieto</strong>’s Signaling Software products.<br />

Interface<br />
The upper interface primitives establish communication<br />
with the user’s application. The thread-safe <strong>AP</strong>I<br />
