Long-Time Members Have A 100% Graduation Rate!
Statistics for the 2007–2008 academic year for all
seven Clubs combined:
n 68% of members are at or above grade level in
elementary reading.
n 66% of members are at or above grade level in
elementary math.
n 53% of members have either maintained or improved
to an a/B average.
n 97% of Boys & Girls Clubs members surveyed said they
have earned a grade of “B” or better since attending the Club.
n 88% of Boys & Girls Clubs members surveyed say they do
better in school because of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
These astonishing results are due to the homework and tutoring
program Power Hour, which benefited over 1,582 Club
members last year. additionally, in collaboration with the Wake
County Public school system, Club members who experienced
difficulties in scoring at proficiency levels on the north Carolina
end-of-Grade tests were further helped through the accelerated
learning Program in their Boys & Girls Clubs.
In Wake County the graduation rate was 78.8% in 2007.
At our Boys & Girls Clubs we have a 100% graduation
rate for members involved four or more years.
