Weatherpacks for the Harshest
Conditions
High temperatures, dirt, moisture or
gasoline fumes – weatherpacks must be
more than a match for the harshest
conditions. At the same time, they must
be easy to fit. With self-lubricating silicone
rubber grades from WACKER, they do
both. The microscopic film produced
during self-lubrication protects them
permanently and reliably against the elements
while concurrently facilitating fully
automated assembly.

Heavy-Duty Turbocharger Hoses
Today, WACKER silicone rubber is the key
to manufacturing effective turbocharger
hoses. The material exhibits particularly
high heat resistance (up to 230 °C) and
permanent resistance to severe mechanical
stresses, such as pressure fluctuations
and pressure waves. Furthermore, it can
be readily processed with other materials
to form multicomponent systems.

All-Around Protection for the Ignition
WACKER silicone rubber grades are ideal
for manufacturing high-performance spark
plug boots and cables because they offer
reliable protection against water splashes,
damp and dirt. Moreover, they are good
electrical insulators, prevent corona effects
and feature high heat resistance and
dielectric strength.

Hot Exhaust-Pipe Suspensions
WACKER silicone rubber features very
good heat resistance, uniform damping
properties at high and low temperatures,
and high dynamic loading capacity. That’s
why silicone-rubber exhaust hangers and
mass dampers absorb mechanical and
acoustic vibrations without generating
any heat themselves.
