Marimar Torres, the sister of Miguel Torres, head of the Torres wine dynasty, came to live in California in 1975. After two years of<br />
searching, she acquired prime land in the Russian River Valley and began planting the vineyard in 1986. She later planted vineyards<br />
in the Sonoma Coast appellation. All vineyards are planted in a high-density European style and are certified organic and<br />

The engineer-turned-viticulturist was first inspired to pursue winemaking in 1965 after an early garage experiment. After<br />
<strong>com</strong>pleting coursework at UC-Davis in 1968, Erath relocated his family from California to the untamed red hills of Dundee. In 1976,<br />
Erath broke ground on the first winery in the Dundee Hills. Early successes, including the 1982 Pinot Noir vintage, inspired leading<br />
winemakers to move to Oregon to forge their own path in this special place. Today Erath is owned by Chateau Ste Michelle Wine<br />
Estates and continues to craft classic Oregon Pinot - light, delicate and fruit-forward.<br />
