Step 1: Express fuel moisture and unburned carbon in<br />
terms of molecular weight of SMAF coal using guessed<br />
coal analysis.<br />
Step 2: Determine first approximation of coal analysis<br />
using CEMS data on CO2, SO2 and O2.<br />
Step 3: Determine all terms in the combustion equation.<br />
Step 4: Calculate mass of flue gas and mass of air per unit mass<br />
of coal. Divide total air flow into its components. Perform<br />
energy balance on boiler and obtain heat transfer to steam per<br />
unit mass of coal and losses per unit mass of coal.<br />
Step 5: Calculate coal flow rate and Higher Heating Value<br />
(HHV) of the coal.<br />
Step 6: Is the difference between calculated HHV and<br />
input HHV less than 0.1%?<br />
YES<br />
Step 7: Output coal flow rate, efficiency, boiler<br />
efficiency, coal composition and higher heating rate.<br />
