Dear Alumnae, Parents and Friends, 

I cannot thank you enough for your faithful and generous contributions 

that not only achieved but also exceeded our goal for the annual fund in 

both dollars and donors. Your donations surpassed last year’s total by 

$53,000, a whopping 20% increase in funding, while the number of 

donors jumped by 154, which also represents a 20% increase in participation. 

Your gifts to the annual fund appeal spilled over our $300,000 target by 

$19,655 this year. What good you have achieved for Holy Angels! Your 

generosity benefits every young woman in the excellence of education 

she receives at AHA. Thank you for your loyal support. 

I am confident that you will continue to support Holy Angels because you 

believe in its mission and know first-hand the quality of an AHA education.

This scholarship is named in honor of Mother Caroline Friess, SSND, who led the School Sisters of Notre Dame to the 

united States in 1847. This four-year full or partial scholarship is for students entering 9th grade who have demonstrated 

excellence on the Cooperative Admissions Examination. Invitations are sent in early January for the scholarship exam. 

Students who are awarded the scholarship must maintain a yearly average of 90% in order to renew this scholarship 

for the following year.

This scholarship was established in 1999 by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pakosh 

(Kathleen Klett Garrett ’68) in memory of her mother, Margaret E. Klett.

Patrick Dunne 

AHA teacher and coach Patrick Dunne was selected as NJ’s 

Coach of the Year in Girls Golf. He will be a guest at the 

NJSCA’s Hall of Fame luncheon on March 29, 2009 at the 

Pines Manor in Edison NJ, where he will receive his award. 

New Athletic Director 

Patti Gorsuch 

We are thrilled to welcome Patti Gorsuch as the AHA Athletic Director. 

Patti is not new to the Holy Angels family – she is the proud mother of 

angel Kristen ’08. During the years that her daughter was at AHA, Patti 

was active in the Parents’ Athletic Association and was the score keeper for 

both the basketball and softball teams. Patti’s career has revolved around 

sports; she has worked as a director for both ABC and NBC Sports. 

In fact, Patti was the first woman ever to direct a televised football 

game. Her excellent work over the years was rewarded with six Emmys! 

Unsung Hero Award 

Peter DeVries 

Congratulations to AHA coach Peter DeVries as one of the first winners of the 

The Bergen County Women’s Coaches Association unsung Hero Award! 

The Bergen County Womens’ Coaches Association honored its first winners of the 

unsung Hero Award at its fall meeting. Association president Robert Stevenson 

stated “We have been looking for a way to recognize people who don’t typically 

get noticed.” 

Pete has been the coach of the AHA freshman basketball team and the AHA 

freshman/JV softball for the past 11 years. He earned the respect not only of his 

players, but of his fellow Varsity coaches. Pete can also be heard as the announcer 

at Angels’ Varsity basketball games. 

“It was an honor to represent Holy Angels and it is something I will always treasure.”

every angel’s vote counts! 

Gail Fair, Social Studies department chairperson, has been at AHA since 

1997 and has been the chairperson of the department since 2002. She is 

also the coach of the debate team and teaches AP Government & Politics, 

AP US History and US History I – High Honors. Gail spent this past summer 

team teaching with Nancy Schneberger in the summer program in Austria. 

The election excitement that has swept our 

country over the past year has also been 

present at AHA. It all began last January on 

Super Tuesday when the angels from the 

class of ’08, who were students in the AP 

Government & Politics class, had a sleepover. 

This extraordinary group of young women 

spent this school night together to witness 

the results of the primary in California. 

The election, which is traditionally thought 

of as a topic only covered in Social Studies 

classrooms, has overflowed into other areas 

of the curriculum at Holy Angels. The Social 

Justice and Statistics classes have been 

using the election to further enhance their 

curriculum. In fact, there has been much 

cross-curriculum teaching between the Social 

Studies department and other departments 

as many first time voters were preparing to 

cast their ballots on Election Day. 

Fair says “we are preparing students to 

make independent decisions as women 

and they need to know both sides to every 

issue.” In Fair’s AP Government and Politics 

class, the students had been covering 

the election from the perspective of all 

50 states. Each student was assigned 

two states and had to read the daily state 

newspaper to stay on top of the key issues. 

Never before has technology played a more 

important role than now; students were 

literally able to take the pulse of the country 

throughout the school day. Because of this, 

Fair states “Our students will not be living in 

a vacuum; they need to think critically and 

instead of memorizing dates we encourage 

them to ask the questions ‘Why did this 

happen?’ and ‘What was the long range 

impact of people’s decisions?’” 

In early October, prior to the debates, Mr. 

Erwin Lara and his Statistics class set up an 

online poll to collect data from students and 

faculty. The poll questioned: If the election 

were held today, whom would you vote for? 

In addition to this information, the voter 

was asked to prioritize how the issues of 

the economy, war, and homeland security 

impacted their decision. The results of this 

sampling mirrored the national polls that 

were taken that same week – a dead heat. 

The number one issue that floated to the 

top was the economy. The class compiled 

the information, then shared the results 

with everyone during the morning 

announcements the following day.

Faculty members in the Social Studies 

department have always guided students 

through the study of the past as they make 

comparisons to current events. In the 

Economics class, taught by Theresa Young, 

students have been contrasting the current 

economic situation to their studies of the 

Depression. As they witness history being 

made daily, teachers are taking advantage 

of these teachable moments. 

Recently Fair put the books aside so that 

her students could watch the live coverage 

of President Bush 2nd from the Sopranos White House

discussing the economy. The students 

have instant access to breaking news. 

Fair says “students are very aware of what 

is happening and are excited.” They even 

were the first to share with her when the 

House of Representative passed the bill 

for the bailout. “Students are aware that 

there are issues that will impact them 

personally, such as the student loan 

situation.” Fair says we need to ask students 

to consider the questions “What leads 

to your decisions; what persuades you?” 

Although only a small percentage of 

students could cast their vote on Election 

Day, students were able to make their vote 

count at AHA. A virtual poll for students 

and faculty remained open throughout the 

school day on November 4. Even if this was 

a mock election, there was no dampening 

the sense of excitement throughout the 

building as everyone executed the right to 

vote. The hope is that this enthusiasm will 

not end on graduation day. Based on news 

received from some of the recent graduates, 

that spirit is alive and well. The angels are 

making their mark on college/university 

campuses as they continue their pursuits in 

Social Studies with some choosing to major 

in Political Science, while others have chosen 

to be very involved in civic organizations, 

whether for a political party or by assisting 

with “get out and vote” efforts.

AP Scholars 

Holy Angels offers 15 AP (Advanced Placement) courses to students in either junior 

or senior year. All students enrolled in Advanced Placement classes at Holy Angels are 

required to take the National Exam in that subject area in the spring. In the 2008-09 

school year, a total of 132 students will be taking 232 exams. The group is comprised 

of 87 seniors (58% of the senior class) and 45 juniors (29% of the junior class). 

AHA is proud to announce that we have 43 AP Scholars in 2008. This is an increase 

of 13 students from our former record of 30 scholars in 2007. The greatest increase has 

come in the middle category – scholars with honor. Fifteen students achieved grades of 

3 or higher on 4 exams. Eight scholars were juniors at the time of the test, meaning 

they have the opportunity to move to the higher categories as they take more AP courses 

at Holy Angels. our faculty is to be congratulated for a superb job.

Therapy Research unit 2008 Summer 

Internship Program at Columbia university 

Medical Center/New York Presbyterian 

Hospital. Together their combined hours 

of volunteer activity totaled 417 hours. 

They were involved in several key projects: 

the Role of Aspirin and Plavix Resistance, 

Triple vs. Dual Anti-platelet Drug 

regimens and 2 year follow-up of 

patients who received stenting of 

Saphenous Vein Bypass Grafts. 

Sylwia Zieba ’10 attended The Foundation 

for Free Enterprise annual Learn About 

Business seminar at Ramapo College in 

Mahwah, NJ. 

THE ARTS 

Ellen Lee ’10 traveled to Aspen this 

summer and was chosen to perform on 

“From the Top”, a classical music show 

that broadcasts on NPR. While in Aspen, 

Ellen was appointed Principal Second 

Violinist of the Aspen Concert orchestra. 

Ellen was also recently accepted into 

the New York String orchestra Seminar. 

Acceptance is based on the musical talent 

and technical proficiency displayed in a 

live audition. This year, 419 people 

applied to the program and only 45 

string players and 18 wind and brass 

players were selected. 

LEADERSHIP 

Alexandra Creange has been named as 

a Junior Commissioner on the Bergen 

County Commission on the Status of 

Women. Each year, the Bergen County 

Commission on the Status of Women 

invites all high schools in Bergen County 

to nominate one young woman from 

the sophomore or junior class. A panel 

of judges evaluates the applications and 

selects the young women with exceptional 

academic and leadership qualities to be 

appointed. 

Lina Kraytem ’09 has been chosen by 

the Youth Ministry Program and the 

entire Parish of Church of the Assumption 

in Emerson, to receive the “Parish Youth 

Recognition Award”. lina has given 

countless hours of service to her church 

community and exemplifies all that the 

award stands for. Natalie Millan ’11 

also received a Parish Youth Recognition 

Award from the Archdiocese of Newark 

for her outstanding service to St. John’s 

Parish in leonia. 

HELPING HANDS 

The History Society recently raised 

$1042.70 through jeans passes for the 

Women’s Breast Cancer Research Group. 

AHA participates every year as part of 

the national campaign. 

ANGELS ROCK THE VOTE! 

Katrina Hayes ’09 and Isabel Diaz ’09 

spent time in September and October 

seeking out all voting age angels and 

faculty. They handed out information 

regarding voting registration processes 

and encouraged everyone to get out 

and vote!

Remy McBain ’09 was one of 30 

Volleyball players chosen from a 

nation-wide pool for the uSA 

High Performance Women’s Junior 

International team this summer. She 

trained for five days with some of the 

best athletes and coaches in the Nation. 

Remy has verbally committed to 

attend the university of Maryland 

on a full scholarship. 

Nikki Jackson ’09 won the Girls’ 18 

Singles tournament during Harlem 

Week’s ten-year anniversary of the 

Tri-State Junior Tennis Classic. In 

conjunction with the u.S. Tennis 

Association and the u.S. open, 

this event showcases the best up and 

coming tennis talents. 

Camille Menendez ’09 finished 

in 6th place in both her Short and 

long Program events at the North 

Atlantic Regional Championships in 

Figure Skating. She finished in 6th place 

overall amongst 21 competitors in the 

Junior ladies Competition. 

The Don Bosco Dance Team, which is 

comprised solely of Holy Angels students, 

recently attended uDA Camp at Hofstra 

university and all dancers were awarded 

blue ribbons, the highest level given. 

The team received a perfect evaluation 

score, qualifying them for the 2009 

National Dance Team Championship 

held in orlando, Florida. They were 

also rewarded with the camp leadership 

award, the most prestigious award given, 

because it is voted on by the fellow 

campers. The other teams felt that 

our girls demonstrated outstanding 

sportsmanship, poise, school spirit 

and talent. our four seniors, Emily 

Kruklinski, Rachel Pincus, Kristen 

Cebulski and Megan O’Connell, 

were selected as uDA All Stars and 

were invited to participate in the 

New Year’s Parade held in Paris, France.

Spain 

This past summer, 11 students traveled to 

Spain with faculty members Kathleen Czepiel 

and Carmen Quinones. In Toledo, the spiritual 

capital of Spain where El Greco created some 

of his greatest works, the group visited the 

St. Mary’s cathedral, a synagogue, and the 

Church of Santo Tomé. In Madrid, they 

visited the Royal Palace – an enormous 

Baroque masterpiece – the Prado Museum 

and the Puerta de Alcala, which is a triumphal 

arch built to honor Carlos III’s entry into Spain. 

They also were able to experience a live flamenco 

dance presentation. The group continued their 

journey by visiting the beautiful beaches of 

Mallorca and in Barcelona experienced the 

Gothic churches and grand avenues filled 

with outdoor cafés. 

During the summer of 2008, 30 students 

(sophomores and juniors) traveled for 18 

days to Italy, Greece, and Turkey. The group 

visited archeological sites and art museums 

where they learned about history and culture. 

While in Italy, students were able to practice 

their Italian. In Greece, on the island of 

Santorini, the girls climbed a volcano, swam 

to the hot volcanic springs and traveled 

down the mountain by donkey. Faculty

Wroblewski ’79 accompanied the group.

Feast Day 2008 

We express our unity in a very deep and loving way on our 

Feast Day, october 2nd. It is the Feast of the Guardian Angels, 

the day the Academy was founded in 1879. Remembering 

our 129 year tradition, on this day we pray for our Guardian 

Angels to guide and protect us. We also pay tribute to 

the vision and courage of our foundress, S. Mary Nonna 

Dunphy, SSND. Her legacy is reflected in the students who 

are honored with scholarships in her name and in the 20

seniors who were commissioned 

as Eucharistic Ministers. And as 

tradition has it, free ice cream 

is served to everyone during

Our School Theme – Claiming the Call to Solidarity 

In today’s world, we believe we 

are called not only to respond 

to the urgent needs of God’s 

people, but also to the urgent 

needs of our planet Earth. 

This belief is at the heart of the 

SSND Directional Statement, 

Call to Solidarity, that was an 

outgrowth of their recent 

General Chapter. As we 

celebrate the 175th anniversary 

of the School Sisters of Notre 

Dame, the Academy of the 

Holy Angels joins with them 

in claiming the Call to 

Solidarity with God’s earth 

and its people, as our theme 

for the year.

Changes in the way languages are taught is beginning to have an impact on students’ ability 

to communicate in a World language. 

In addition to the practice and evaluation in the language lab, there are many oral assessments 

being used in the classroom. Students have made valuable suggestions about best practices in 

learning communication skills. With tablet technology, oral homework is now a reality.

The SAT math mean score for the class of 2008 went up 9 points to 570. 

100% of students enrolled in AP Calculus and 70% of students enrolled 

in AP Statistics received passing scores on their AP exams in May 2008. 

The math department teachers will 

participate in a workshop with an SAT 

specialist in November to learn how to 

incorporate SAT style questions into 

the existing curriculum.

10th grade which will enable them to 

enroll in Calculus during senior year. 

The class of 2011 has created their e-portfolios containing five artifacts which will 

be replaced by master works by the end of their junior year. In senior year these 

students will give colleges a link to their portfolios which should be a powerful 

argument for their admission. 

using focus groups of students, our librarian will determine how to strengthen 

research skills. She continues to work with ninth grade Computer Application 

classes as well as classes in other disciplines and individual students to improve 

their use of electronic data bases in research.

evaluative team concluded:

Muriel Mack Burns ’32 

First Inductee into AHA’s Athletic Hall of Fame 

on November 1, 2008, Muriel Mack Burns was the first 

inductee in the AHA Athletic Hall of Fame. Chosen for her longtime 

commitment to the Holy Angels Athletic Program, whether 

during her years as a student under 

the dome in Fort lee, or when she 

taught and coached years later on 

both the Fort lee and Demarest 

campuses. 

Born in New York City, Muriel 

attended Hawthorne Elementary 

School in Bogota. As a student 

at Holy Angels, Muriel was very 

involved in the arts, student 

government and athletics. She was 

the Sophomore Class President and 

in the cast of two plays. She also 

participated in a play writing contest 

and won for her work entitled 

“Freedom”. Muriel was a guard 

for the Varsity Basketball team, 

the only sports team available 

to angels at that time. 

After graduation Muriel attended 

Mt. St. Vincent College for two 

years and then transferred to Panzer 

College, now Montclair State 

university. She graduated in 1936 with a Bachelor’s degree in 

Physical Education. Muriel then went on to earn a Master’s 

degree in English from NYu. Muriel was truly accomplished 

for a woman at the time! 

Muriel married in 1940 and her daughter Barbara was born in 

1946. As a good Holy Angels’ alumna, Muriel sent Barbara to 

AHA to continue the legacy. Barbara graduated in 1964. 

In 1953, Muriel returned to 

Holy Angels as a teacher and 

remained until 1968. The 

Angels over the years will 

fondly remember her as teacher 

of: English, Speech, Early 

European History, Health, 

Physical Education and Drivers 

Education. Muriel never lost 

her passion for athletics and 

accepted the role as coach for 

the Basketball team from 1961 

to 1968. Her coaching record 

is 61 wins and 42 losses. 

She also served as the 

Cheerleading coach. 

We are so pleased to call Muriel 

our Soaring Angel and one 

our first inductees in the Holy 

Angels Athletic Hall of Fame. 

Her dedication and 

commitment to Holy Angels 

is one that we hope our 

current and future students 

will recognize as worthy to be emulated. More pictures and 

details about both of our Hall of Fame inductees will be 

featured in the next issue of Tidings. 

“The first thing that attracted us to Muriel was her swift, sweet smile, a smile that 

made us all eager for her friendship. Muriel takes special delight in dramatics, as is

on october 24th, 2008, the Holy Angels community gathered to celebrate the founding of the SSNDs and their 175th Anniversary! 

A very special prayer service honored the work of the SSNDs not only here at the Academy, but around the world. Below are excerpts 

from two of the speeches read that day by Emma Meyers ’09 and Emily Giannelli ’10. 

“Blessed Theresa, everyone sitting here can sense your spirit, 

and we want to share with you how your presence is felt in 

these halls and around the world and how your mission and 

the School Sister charism is being carried out. 

This past summer, I traveled with 14 other girls from Holy 

Angels and visited the School Sisters of Notre Dame 

Motherhouse in Munich, Germany. There, we had the 

privilege to see how your influence still exists around the 

world. Walking through the halls of the SSND school in 

Munich, I felt an unmistakable connection with the students 

who are learning and growing with the same values and 

beliefs as we do here at Holy Angels. As I 

admired the artwork that decorated the walls, 

I thought of our own paintings and murals. The 

open classroom doors revealed desks, chairs, 

and blackboards, no different from those that 

fill our classrooms. Though I obviously knew 

schools around the world don’t vary much, 

it was something I had never given much 

thought to before. Seeing it in front of me, it 

suddenly made me realize: we are all the same. 

They may learn in German, and we in English, 

but we are still all students in SSND schools, learning the same 

things and living the same mission: your mission. 

Standing in the white and airy motherhouse chapel, and at the 

foot of your grave, I felt your mission was alive. We were in 

another country experiencing the same community that we do 

at home. Your influence is truly global now. Even here within 

our school, we burn with a fiery desire for global justice. We 

live your mission of bettering the entire world each day, whether 

we stand up in solidarity with the impoverished, or work to 

save Darfur with our jeans passes. When we visit Honduras and 

New Orleans, we are spreading your passionate spirit around 

the world. From Munich to Honduras to Baltimore to 315 Hillside 

Avenue in Demarest, New Jersey, your presence is felt.”

“Mother Theresa, as Emma said, we do feel your spirit alive with 

us everyday. 

When I first came to Holy Angels, I got an indescribable feeling. 

I felt welcomed and that I was going to succeed while being in 

a caring environment. I felt the radiance of friendship, laughter, 

love, and determination and that people listened and responded 

with their hearts and minds. These are the values of the SSNDs

being reflected in each student and teacher. However, at that 

time, I didn’t know what those combined feelings were called. 

As an incoming freshman, all I knew was that I felt comfortable 

here at Holy Angels. 

It wasn’t until this past summer that I discovered the roots of 

my passion for this school. As three other angels and I packed 

our bags for a few days at an SSND leadership conference 

in Baltimore. We were full of questions and unaware of what 

we would experience. However, as the days went on and we 

learned about your life, determination, dreams, and how you 

carried them out, our mission was made clearer to us. We 

came together with girls, teachers, and sisters 

from three other SSND schools, to see, firsthand, 

how your goal is still being lived out. 

We got to know the girls from the other 

sponsored schools and were able to share 

with them the love and teamwork that is found 

at the heart of your work. We were introduced 

to the girls of Mother Seton Academy, an 

inner city school for children from low-income 

families, where students are provided with an 

affordable education in a supportive learning environment. 

As we worked and played with these students, we truly saw 

your love and heart in their personalities and dispositions. 

The next day, we visited the Caroline Center, another SSND 

sponsored school that works with women to acquire the 

discipline, knowledge, and skills necessary to find a career and 

future. Without the Caroline Center, these women would not 

have the opportunities to pursue their passions. But, your desire 

to empower women is reflected by the Caroline Center in all 

its ways. The fire in these women’s hearts and in the hearts of 

all the educators is the same fire that burned in your heart. 

I know they feel the presence of your values from their 

priceless work ethic. It made me step back and really see 

how fortunate I am to attend the Academy of the Holy Angels. 

It made me realize how blessed all the angels and I are to have 

such compassionate teachers and staff who want to see us 

succeed and be the best we can be. With this constant support 

being our inspiration and drive, we are now called to bring alive 

your mission. With this blessing, comes responsibility. And you, 

mother, are counting on me and the other Angels to carry out 

this responsibility. We remember you today with a renewing 

motivation for us to continue to carry out Christ’s love through 

your values. To you and to all School Sisters of Notre Dame, 

past and present, we say thank you.”

This year, Foundation Day brought together members of 

the AHA community, as well as dignitaries, past faculty 

and staff, and friends of Holy Angels. After the prayer 

service, all were treated to a luncheon, where they were 

able to reconnect and celebrate with the Sisters on this 

momentous occasion.

Mary Louise Koski Bullock ’63 has 

returned full-time to her original vocation 

of artist after years of other pursuits. She 

has been painting since April 2001 and 

currently lives on the North Shore 

of Staten Island. Her opening at the 

SHoW Gallery, Studio and Performance 

Space (just steps from the Staten Island 

Ferry Terminal) was on November 14. 

Her work will continue to be displayed 

until December 19. Mary also received 

two grants from the local arts council.

Cathryn Archibald Curia ’65 has been 

working in Bermuda for almost three 

years as a Consultant in Property 

Reinsurance. She has the “best of both 

worlds,” with commuting out to Bermuda 

on Monday mornings for work, and 

coming home to New Jersey on Friday 

afternoon. During the week, the view 

from her office is of the Royal Bermuda 

Yacht Club and she enjoys the short 2 

block “commute” along the harbor. on 

weekends she has the pleasure of being 

with family and friends in New Jersey.

Angela R. Cucco ’03 graduated 

from lehigh university in 2007 

with a BA in Theater. She spent this past 

summer as a Stage Management intern 

at the Williamstown Theater Festival in 

Williamstown, MA. She also completed 

an apprenticeship as an Assistant Stage 

Manager at the Walnut Street Theatre in 

Philadelphia, PA for the 2007-08 season. 

She currently works for the George Street 

Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ as the 

Stage Manager for their Educational 

Touring Troupe. Kendra Mara ’03 has 

taken her passion for animals to a new 

level in becoming the Volunteer Coordinator 

and Humane Education Director of 

Animal Haven Inc., a no-kill animal 

shelter in New York City. In addition to 

recruiting and training the organization’s 

volunteers, she has created an educational 

program that teaches elementary and 

high school students about current 

animal welfare issues and the importance 

of treating all living things with dignity,

Stephanie Ringelstein ’04 

graduated this past May 

from Providence College 

with a BS in Biology and 

a minor in Spanish. In 

March of this year, her Biology class took 

a trip to la Selva Biological Station in 

Costa Rica where they lived in cabins 

in the rain forest, conducting research 

projects for ten days. After graduation 

in May, Stephanie toured Italy with the 

Providence College liturgical Choir, 

which included singing at masses at San 

Marco Basilica in Venice, The Basilica of 

St. Francis in Assisi and St. Peters Basilica. 

on their final day, they sang a small piece 

for Pope Benedict XVI. This past summer 

she kept busy finishing up Vertias, the 

Providence College yearbook as Editor in 

Chief. Kara Walker ’04 graduated from 

The Catholic university of America in 

May 2008 with a degree in Media and 

Communications. She currently works 

as a Production Assistant for the Media 

Desk at Fox News in New York City.

was recently inducted into the Konosioni 

Senior Honor Society at Colgate university. 

Konosioni was founded in 1932 with the 

joining of two secret societies, the Gorgon’s 

Head and the Skull and Scroll, and each 

year 26 students out of 

every class are peer-selected

Amid the doo-wop strains and a “homeroom” 

filled with memorabilia, 58 “golden oldies” 

from the class of ’58 gathered to celebrate 

each other at their 50th reunion. The 

group spent the weekend of october 3-5 

at the IBM 

Palisades 

Center, the 

former site of 

Birchwood 

Day Camp, 

where many 

of the classmates 

had 

worked as 

counselors.

from Canada, 

California,

trivia (name of sister in the cafeteria, color 

days, etc). The girls were also treated to

Each year, the Academy of the Holy Angels 

relies on the generosity of its alumnae, current 

and past parents, grandparents and friends to 

make contributions that stretch tuition beyond 

necessity to enhancement and bolster the quality 

that is synonymous with AHA. 

Scholarship/Financial Aid 

Gifts made to the Academy’s scholarship funds 

are important expressions of support for the 

school’s future. Contributions made to the Annual 

Fund can be restricted towards financial aid.

supplement the support by employees for 

charitable institutions. This is a simple and 

effective way for contributors to increase the

A bequest is a gift by a will. It can be given 

as a specific amount, as a portion of an estate,
