WCET NEWS
The 17th Congress of the
World Council of Enterostomal
Therapists (WCET) is being
held in Ljubljana, Slovenia
June 15 – 19, 2008 (www.
wcet2008.org) The theme of
the Congress is “All roads lead
us together” and will bring
colleagues together from all
over the world.
WCET aspires to the core
values of respect, integrity,
communication, holistic care
and scientific approach. One
of its vision is “to ensure
specialized nursing care is
available worldwide for all

people with a need for ostomy,
wound [and] or continence
care”.
Being a WCET member
and / or attending a WCET
Congress gives an individual
an opportunity of world
networking and learning
about research, education and
common / diverse themes of
the ET nursing community
at a global level. Currently
Canadians, past and present,
have and are participating in
key roles at the executive level.
I encourage ET nurses across
Canada to consider being a
member of the WCET
(www.wcetn.org).
