STATUTE: SECTION 54.0521(c) If the Individual falls to make a tlmely
payment as required by this section, the indiv~dual is not entitled to
receive a transcript or to receive credit for courses taken during the
time the individual was falsely registered as a resident student.

RECLASSIFICATION AS A NONRESIDENT. Persons who have been
classified as residents of Texas shall be reclassified as nonresident

which they were so erroneously classified. In addttion, the students
shall be requtred to pay back all monies borrowed from the Hinson-
Hazlewood College Student Loan Program.
OATH OF RESIDENCY The student is responsible for registering
under the proper residence' classification and for providing
documentation as required by the public institution of higher education
II there 1s any question as to right to classification as a resident
of Texas. it 1s the student's obligation, prior to or at the time
of enrollment, to raise the question for official determination by the
Director of Admission and Evaluation. Students classlfled as Texas
residents must anirm the correctness of that classification as a part
ol the admissions orocedure. If the student's classification as a resident
becomes inappropriate for any reason. it is the responsibility
of the student to notifv the Otflce of Admission and Evaluation. Failure
to notify the insiitution constitutes a violation of the oath of
residency and will result in disciplinary action.

Each public institution of higher education is responsible for review-
ing enrollment andlor registration applications for errors, inconsisten.
cies or misclass~fications of residency status. Institutions should
obtaln written documentation to resolve any problems noted dur-
ing the review of forms.
OATH OF RESIDENCY: Each public institution 1s responsible for
incorporating an oath of residency into its student application for
admlssion. Substantiating documentation may be required by the
institution to atfirm Texas residency.
