Jessie M. (Watson) Cummins, a
Columbus, Indiana, resident, reports
that her grandson Joseph Meek is
attending ICU. Joe is a junior political
science major.

Joseph Brice, son of Kenneth F. Brice,
was unanimously elected as “Bandmaster
of the Year” for the state of Colorado.
A. Glen O’Dell has recently been
appointed by Gov. Robert D. Orr to the
Indiana State Commission on the Aged
and Aging for a four-year term. Much
involved in that field, he is presently a
member of the Board of Directors of
Johnson County Council on Agmg as
well as the Greenwood Senior Citizens’
Center. He represents his county on the
Advisory Council of the Central Indiana
Council on Aging. He was recently elected
president of Central Indiana United
Senior Action, a political action
organization of 8000 members. In mid-
June he was assigned to the staff of the
growing Mt. Auburn United Methodist
Church as Director of Senior Ministries.
He and his wife, Gladys, live in
Greenwood, a southern suburb of
Indianapolis.
Kenneth M. Richter, retired professor
emeritus from the University of Oklahoma
School of Medicine, is the father of four
and the grandfather of 12 (6 grandsons
and 6 granddaughters). “All sons and
grandchildren doing well!! So am I.”

At the close of the 1983-84 school year,
Helen (Ringley) Brady retired from
teaching. For the past 29 years, she
taught elementary art at Westlake School
in Indianapolis. She and husband
Malcolm plan to enjoy their leisure and
help with work in the church. ‘Ihe Bradys
are the parents of two boys, both who
attended ICU in the early 60s.

Eulala (Graham) Roettger, a retired
department chairperson and social
studies teacher at Connersville Junior
High School, will be spending the 1984-
85 school year at McCurdy School in
Espanola, New Mexico, doing volunteer
work.

Dwight L Smith, professor of history
at Miami University (Ohio), retired after
30 years of service. Smith is author of
‘The History of Canada,” a bibliography
of the history and social science literature
on Canada published in hundreds of
professional journals throughout the
world from 1973-78. It is the eighth
volume on American and Canadian
history that Smith has contributed to the
Clio Bibliography Series.

Congratulations to Sherman A Cravens
and wife Marjorie on their 50th wedding
anniversary. The Cravens’ celebrated
with an open house on June 30 hosted
by members of their family. Dr. Cravens
is a retired United Methodist Minister
and Mrs. Cravens was employed by
United Methodist Communications at
the time of their retirement. They live in
Indianapolis.

After 47 years of teaching fifth and sixth
grades at Lapel School, Theodosia
Everly has retired. She is a resident of
Lapel, Indiana.

Robert B. Hanni, president of the State
and Savings Bank of Monticello, has
been appointed to the 1 1-member State
Board of Education by Governor
Robert D. Orr.
Ivan Moreman retired from IPS as
assistant dean of boys at Tech High
School. Ivan and wife Mary (Ray) ’53
have moved to Indian River, Michigan
to enjoy their retirement.

James Mansfield has joined the
marketing and sales staff of WICAT
Systems, a leading research, development,
and manufacturing firm based in Utah
that specializes in computer-assisted
instruction systems and curriculum for
schools. His areas of responsibility cover
Illinois and Indiana.

John and Betty (Butler) Sinclair are
keeping busy in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
John is in his third year as superintendent
in Sierra Vista Unified School District
and Betty is a teacher in Polominas
School District.

Norma (Barnett) Gaston has been
named the department chairman for
Fine Arts and coordinator of the Positive
Attitude classes at the junior high level
in Decatur Township. Norma and
husband Marion are residents of Camby.

Robert Frey will become dean of
Wilmington College, a Quaker-affiliated
school in Ohio, July 1. He has been a
member of the staff of Lynchburg
College in Virginia.
Lou Hurrle has been named attendance
officer for Hancock-South Madison Joint
Services, after teaching 19 years in
Hancock County schools. Hurrle will
begin his new duties in August. Wife
Suzanne (Clark) ’59 continues to teach
at Greenfield Junior High School. The
Hurrles have two sons.

Marilyn Ramsey, head girls’ basketball
coach at Southport High School, has
announced her retirement from coaching
effective the 1984-85 school year,
concluding a 22-year coaching career at
the IU School of Nursing and Southport.
hmsey will continue teaching in the
health and physical education
department at Southport.

David and Judith (Danmeyer) Bra& ’63
are now owners of the Computer Store
located in Marion, Indiana. They are
the parents of a son, Clark, who is a
sophomore at Purdue University. David
and Judy take an active part in the
Sweetzer United Methodist Church near
their home.
Jerry L. Symmonds’ daughter Molly,
(age 8), got excited when the mail came
and told him, “Oh Dad, here’s your
Aluminum News!” Jerry is a fourth grade
teacher at Westlake Elementary School
in Wayne Township.

Bev (Gorbett) kibold has worked at
McGuire Federal Credit Union,
Wrightstown, New Jersey, since 198 1.
The credit union is the second-largest
in New Jersey dnd has 48,000 members.
Bev and husband John, a retired member
of the USAF, live in Mount Holly, New
Jersey.
R Lee Wolverton has recently accepted
a position with Waycross Molders
Products, Waycross, Georgia, as a staff/
industrial engineer. Lee and wife Carrol
Ann live in Waycross with their family.
