Larry J. Barrett, chairman of the board
and chief executive officer of Security
Savings Association, was recently elected
second vice-chairman of the Indiana
League of Savings Institutions. Barrett
has been district director of the league
for four years, and currently is a
member of its political action committee
and of the deposit acquisition committee
of the U.S. League of Savings Institutions.

James Young has been promoted to vice
president division manager of the
Florida Division of Super Food Services,
Inc. Super Foods is a multidivisional
food wholesaler.

Jan David has been named head varsity
basketball coach at DeKalb High School
where he has taught and coached for
seven years. His wife, Jo Ann (Voss) ’7 1,
is a guidance counselor at Eastside High
School in Butler, Indiana. The Davids
live in Auburn with their three sons, Andy,
Nick and Rocky.
Paul and Rosemary Fox observed their
25th wedding anniversary with a Mass
of Thanksgiving in St. James Catholic
Church on Sunday, June 10. The Foxes
were married June 13,1959, and are the
parents of four: Mary Ann, Monica Bova,
Thomas and Andrew. Paul is a counselor
for Catholic Cemeteries Association and
Rosemary teaches and is a department
head at Roncalli High School.

Janice L (Coryell) Faherty has been
promoted to vice president at Merchants
National Bank & Trust Co. She has
been with the company since 1974.
Paul A. Thomas wrote the Alumni News
that he has passed the C.P.A. exam. He
is currently an accountant with Robert
Donovan C.P.A. in Dandle.

Virginia Dailey has retired from
teaching after 18 years in Perry Township.
She taught five years at Southport High
School before becoming part of the
charter faculty of Perry Meridian High
School. Among her many honors in
education was recognition in 1981 as a
Hoosier Teacher of the Year by the
Indiana Council of Teachers of English.
Doug Hattabaugh is now employed as
a pilot with Air One Airline, St. Louis,
and a pilot with the Air Force Reserve
at Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana.

He and his wife Charlotte are residents
of Indianapolis.
“Not Above a Whisper,” the story of
brothea Dk, was presented at the Indiana
Repertory Theater Main Stage June 13.
Gayle Stahlhuth wrote and starred in
“Not Above a Whisper.” In addition, she
authored “Four on Five,” a musical
based on Walt Whitman’s life, and the
play, “Lou,” the story of Louisa May
Alcott. She’s working on an adaptation
of Thomas Wolfe’s “You Can’t Go Home
Again” to premiere in November at ICU.

Mick Bridgewater appeared with John
Davidson in Starlight Musical’s
production of “Oklahoma!” July 9-1 5.
The cast of “Oklahoma!,” which also
includes his wife, Judy, will tour for six
weeks to Memphis, Chicago, St. Louis,
Norfolk, Richmond, Cleveland and other
cities. The Bridgewaters are the parents
of three children.
Steve Hurst will become the head
football coach at Noblesville High School
this fall. He was a coach for the North
All-star Football Team this summer.
John Memmer has recently been named
the varsity basketball coach at Attica
High School after having been the varsity
basketball coach at Van Buren High
School in Brazil, Indiana, for the past
five years. While at Van Buren, he
compiled a record of 73 wins and 37
losses and captured a sectional
championship. He has also been named
assistant athletic director and boys’
tennis coach.
Lany A. Musselman, special agent for
The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance
Company, has earned the Chartered Lde
Underwriter (CLU) diploma and
professional designation from the
American College at Bryn Mawr, PA.
Musselman has also been recipient of
the National Quality Award and
National Sales Achievement Award.

Kathy Niccum reports that she is a staff
nurse at Kettering Medical Center in
Kettering, Ohio.
Teny L Taylor, since becoming director
of admissions at Adrian College, has
attended an educational conference on
“Communicating the Value of Higher
Education.” He presented a paper on
personalizing the admissions p. voces
and began a three-year term on the
American Association of Collegiate
Registrars as Midwest representative
and attended the annual meeting in
Denver, Colorado.

Dianne (Sprunger) and Lowell Birkey
are now residing in Kansas City after
spending three years in Central America
serving with Mennonite Central
Committee. They are the proud parents
of Melisa (age 2) and Justin (age 1).
Dianne is currently working at Bethany
Hospital Med. - Surg. Division PRN.
Mary Ann Skaggs has been promoted
to the newly created position of alcohol
education director at the Greater
Indianapolis Council on Alcoholism.
J. Scott Dew, M.D. and Kathy S. Deasy,
M.D., announce the association of
Shirley A. Thomas, M.D. for the practice
of obstetrics and gynecology at The
Medical Towers and Winona
Professional Building.

Dr. Richard stahlhut has recently
moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to
accept a twoyear fellowship to computer
application to medicine at Harvard
University and Massachusetts General
Hospital.
Steve Hodgson has been named as
Cathedral High School’s head basketball
coach. In addition to coaching duties
Steve will continue as dean of students
at Cathedral.
Peter A. McAUister passed his CPA
Examination in November 1982 and
started a CPA partnership with Steven
Ford called McAllister-Ford and
Company located in Indianapolis.
Peggy (Kirkwood) Price, director of
internal audit at Mt. Sinai Hospital in
Miami Beach, Florida, went to Kenya,
Afnca, in July on a photographic safari
to see the migration of the wildebeests.

Reverend Mark Van Deman has received
his master of divinity degree from
Asbury Theological Seminary and has
moved to the Tampa/Brandon (Florida)
area to begin the work of “planting”
Resurrection Community Church. Small
groups are now meeting and Rev. Van
Deman invites area ICU alumni to
contact him in Brandon for more
information.
Scott Miles received his MD from the
University of Chicago this spring. Scott
lives in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Dave Miller is with the Hoosier Trails
BSA Council and currently lives in
Aurora, Indiana.
