Larry J. Barrett, chairman of the board<br />
and chief executive officer of Security<br />
Savings Association, was recently elected<br />
second vice-chairman of the Indiana<br />
League of Savings Institutions. Barrett<br />
has been district director of the league<br />
for four years, and currently is a<br />
member of its political action committee<br />
and of the deposit acquisition committee<br />
of the U.S. League of Savings Institutions.<br />

James Young has been promoted to vice<br />
president division manager of the<br />
Florida Division of Super Food Services,<br />
Inc. Super Foods is a multidivisional<br />
food wholesaler.<br />

Jan David has been named head varsity<br />
basketball coach at DeKalb High School<br />
where he has taught and coached for<br />
seven years. His wife, Jo Ann (Voss) ’7 1,<br />
is a guidance counselor at Eastside High<br />
School in Butler, Indiana. The Davids<br />
live in Auburn with their three sons, Andy,<br />
Nick and Rocky.<br />
Paul and Rosemary Fox observed their<br />
25th wedding anniversary with a Mass<br />
of Thanksgiving in St. James Catholic<br />
Church on Sunday, June 10. The Foxes<br />
were married June 13,1959, and are the<br />
parents of four: Mary Ann, Monica Bova,<br />
Thomas and Andrew. Paul is a counselor<br />
for Catholic Cemeteries Association and<br />
Rosemary teaches and is a department<br />
head at Roncalli High School.<br />

Janice L (Coryell) Faherty has been<br />
promoted to vice president at Merchants<br />
National Bank & Trust Co. She has<br />
been with the company since 1974.<br />
Paul A. Thomas wrote the <strong>Alumni</strong> <strong>News</strong><br />
that he has passed the C.P.A. exam. He<br />
is currently an accountant with Robert<br />
Donovan C.P.A. in Dandle.<br />

Virginia Dailey has retired from<br />
teaching after 18 years in Perry Township.<br />
She taught five years at Southport High<br />
School before becoming part of the<br />
charter faculty of Perry Meridian High<br />
School. Among her many honors in<br />
education was recognition in 1981 as a<br />
Hoosier Teacher of the Year by the<br />
Indiana Council of Teachers of English.<br />
Doug Hattabaugh is now employed as<br />
a pilot with Air One Airline, St. Louis,<br />
and a pilot with the Air Force Reserve<br />
at Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana.<br />

He and his wife Charlotte are residents<br />
of Indianapolis.<br />
“Not Above a Whisper,” the story of<br />
brothea Dk, was presented at the Indiana<br />
Repertory Theater Main Stage June 13.<br />
Gayle Stahlhuth wrote and starred in<br />
“Not Above a Whisper.” In addition, she<br />
authored “Four on Five,” a musical<br />
based on Walt Whitman’s life, and the<br />
play, “Lou,” the story of Louisa May<br />
Alcott. She’s working on an adaptation<br />
of Thomas Wolfe’s “You Can’t Go Home<br />
Again” to premiere in November at <strong>ICU</strong>.<br />

Mick Bridgewater appeared with John<br />
Davidson in Starlight Musical’s<br />
production of “Oklahoma!” July 9-1 5.<br />
The cast of “Oklahoma!,” which also<br />
includes his wife, Judy, will tour for six<br />
weeks to Memphis, Chicago, St. Louis,<br />
Norfolk, Richmond, Cleveland and other<br />
cities. The Bridgewaters are the parents<br />
of three children.<br />
Steve Hurst will become the head<br />
football coach at Noblesville High School<br />
this fall. He was a coach for the North<br />
All-star Football Team this summer.<br />
John Memmer has recently been named<br />
the varsity basketball coach at Attica<br />
High School after having been the varsity<br />
basketball coach at Van Buren High<br />
School in Brazil, Indiana, for the past<br />
five years. While at Van Buren, he<br />
compiled a record of 73 wins and 37<br />
losses and captured a sectional<br />
championship. He has also been named<br />
assistant athletic director and boys’<br />
tennis coach.<br />
Lany A. Musselman, special agent for<br />
The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance<br />
Company, has earned the Chartered Lde<br />
Underwriter (CLU) diploma and<br />
professional designation from the<br />
American College at Bryn Mawr, PA.<br />
Musselman has also been recipient of<br />
the National Quality Award and<br />
National Sales Achievement Award.<br />

Kathy Niccum reports that she is a staff<br />
nurse at Kettering Medical Center in<br />
Kettering, Ohio.<br />
Teny L Taylor, since becoming director<br />
of admissions at Adrian College, has<br />
attended an educational conference on<br />
“Communicating the Value of Higher<br />
Education.” He presented a paper on<br />
personalizing the admissions p. voces<br />
and began a three-year term on the<br />
American Association of Collegiate<br />
Registrars as Midwest representative<br />
and attended the annual meeting in<br />
Denver, Colorado.<br />

Dianne (Sprunger) and Lowell Birkey<br />
are now residing in Kansas City after<br />
spending three years in Central America<br />
serving with Mennonite Central<br />
Committee. They are the proud parents<br />
of Melisa (age 2) and Justin (age 1).<br />
Dianne is currently working at Bethany<br />
Hospital Med. - Surg. Division PRN.<br />
Mary Ann Skaggs has been promoted<br />
to the newly created position of alcohol<br />
education director at the Greater<br />
Indianapolis Council on Alcoholism.<br />
J. Scott Dew, M.D. and Kathy S. Deasy,<br />
M.D., announce the association of<br />
Shirley A. Thomas, M.D. for the practice<br />
of obstetrics and gynecology at The<br />
Medical Towers and Winona<br />

Dr. Richard stahlhut has recently<br />
moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to<br />
accept a twoyear fellowship to computer<br />
application to medicine at Harvard<br />
University and Massachusetts General<br />
Hospital.<br />
Steve Hodgson has been named as<br />
Cathedral High School’s head basketball<br />
coach. In addition to coaching duties<br />
Steve will continue as dean of students<br />
at Cathedral.<br />
Peter A. McAUister passed his CPA<br />
Examination in November 1982 and<br />
started a CPA partnership with Steven<br />
Ford called McAllister-Ford and<br />
Company located in Indianapolis.<br />
Peggy (Kirkwood) Price, director of<br />
internal audit at Mt. Sinai Hospital in<br />
Miami Beach, Florida, went to Kenya,<br />
Afnca, in July on a photographic safari<br />
to see the migration of the wildebeests.<br />

Reverend Mark Van Deman has received<br />
his master of divinity degree from<br />
Asbury Theological Seminary and has<br />
moved to the Tampa/Brandon (Florida)<br />
area to begin the work of “planting”<br />
Resurrection Community Church. Small<br />
groups are now meeting and Rev. Van<br />
Deman invites area <strong>ICU</strong> alumni to<br />
contact him in Brandon for more<br />
information.<br />
Scott Miles received his MD from the<br />
University of Chicago this spring. Scott<br />
lives in Elmhurst, Illinois.<br />
Dave Miller is with the Hoosier Trails<br />
BSA Council and currently lives in<br />
Aurora, Indiana.<br />
