The Ecological <strong>Footprint</strong> of Asia and <strong>the</strong> Pacific is 1.6 gha<br />

per person, which is 60% below <strong>the</strong> global average of 2.7 gha<br />

AsIA PACIFIC per person. However, as shown in Figures 4 and 5, <strong>the</strong>re is<br />

a wide disparity between people of different nations. For<br />

example, <strong>the</strong> per capita Ecological <strong>Footprint</strong> of Australia (<strong>the</strong> highest<br />

in <strong>the</strong> region at 6.7 gha per person) is 14 times larger<br />

than that of Timor-Leste (0.5 gha per person).<br />
