The purpose of this service is to diagnose and treat illnesses and give<br />

appropriate medical services. This service is available at the Main Dispensary,<br />

<strong>City</strong> Health Office (<strong>CHO</strong>) to any person/individual who needs medical assistance.<br />

B. Provision of Immunization Services<br />

ABOUT THE SERVICE:<br />

The purpose of this service is to immunize children 0 to 11 months<br />

from 7 immunization – prevention diseases.<br />

The <strong>City</strong> Health Office (<strong>CHO</strong>) under the Maternal, Child Health<br />

Services Division, also immunizes pregnant mothers to prevent the<br />

occurrence of Tetanus Neonatorum in infants.<br />

F. Provision of Reproductive Tract Health Examination & Treatment<br />

ABOUT THE SERVICE:<br />

The <strong>City</strong> Health Office (<strong>CHO</strong>), under the Social Hygiene Division, runs an<br />

aggressive reproductive tract health program, especially for workers in the<br />

entertainment industry. The objective of the program is to identify and treat<br />

clients with Sexually Transmissible Infections. Those who pass the<br />

examination are given a Health Card.<br />

The <strong>City</strong> Health Office (<strong>CHO</strong>) manages an anti-tuberculosis program (NTP).<br />

The purpose is to identify and treat patients with tuberculosis (TB). Drugs and<br />

medicine have provided free-of-charge.


WHO CAN AVAIL OF THE SERVICE:<br />

Any person, residents of <strong>Bacolod</strong>, 10 years old and above, who displays the<br />

following symptoms may have tuberculosis.<br />

1. Persistent coughing for 2 weeks or more<br />

2. Fever<br />

3. Progressive weight loss<br />

4. Chest or back pains<br />

5. Hemoptysis or recurrent blood streak sputum<br />

6. Loss of appetite<br />

7. Tiredness/night sweating<br />

A Sanitary Permit to Operate is issued to different food establishments like<br />

restaurants, café shops, bakeshops, and non-food establishments like hotels,<br />

night clubs, dept. stores, seaports , beauty parlors, spa & massage among<br />

others which is signed by the concerned Sanitary Inspector, Division Chief,<br />

and <strong>City</strong> Health Officer after compliance of the sanitary requirements that is<br />

requisite for Mayors’ Permit.<br />

For Pest & Vermin Control Section, the following services are rendered:<br />

I. a. Treatment of stagnant water with larvacidal for mosquitoes.<br />

b. Fogging operation may be done in households with confirmed<br />

dengue cases (Medical Certificate needed).<br />

II. a. Disinfection of household with confirmed cases of typhoid fever<br />

P. Provision of Pre-Marriage Counseling Seminars<br />

ABOUT THE SERVICE:<br />

Pre - Marital and Family Planning Counseling. In compliance with<br />

Executive Order 209, Article 16 Family Code of the Philippines, <strong>City</strong><br />

Ordinance 3167, Series of 1974, and Presidential Decree 965, states that all<br />

would be couples are required to undergo Pre-Marital and Family Planning<br />

Counseling for the issuance of their marriage license from the <strong>City</strong> Civil<br />

Registrar Office after the ten (10) days publication period. Would be couples<br />

cannot get married without the Certificate that they have undergone<br />

counseling.<br />

The <strong>City</strong> Health Office conducts Pre-Marriage Counseling (PMC) Seminars<br />

to would-be-couples. A PMC certificate is a prerequisite in securing a marriage<br />

license.<br />

PMC Seminars are held from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.<br />

Population Program Officer conducts the seminars. The PMC Certificate is<br />

The purpose of this service is to examine and diagnose cases<br />

pertaining to medico legal reasons (Battered wife, Women Abused, Child<br />

Abused, Raped, and Physical Injuries).<br />

It also examines Dead on Arrival cases for Autopsy such as stub<br />

wounds, death due to shooting, vehicular accident and any other<br />

questionable cause of death.<br />
