At CLTC, teens grow personally, explore their Jewish identity and learn specific skills to help them strengthen their Chapter at home. This is accomplished through a hands-on, interactive and experiential approach. The participants are divided into mock AZA and BBG Chapters where teamwork and community must be established to successfully accomplish the various tasks that are assigned during the session. CLTC does not end the day the session is over. The friendships that are created at CLTC are monumental. Participants use these friendships during the year to network on programming, elections, speeches, fundraising and other activities. In addition, CLTC participants receive monthly emails with additional information on topics that were covered during the summer. The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens enhances the leadership experience and inspires teens to develop good work habits, to teach them how to work with their peers in a positive environment, to help them recognize their strengths, and to set standards for themselves now and in their future years as adults. Participants delve into: Starting a New Chapter: Chapter standards, working with advisors, and fundraising BBYO Vision: Cardinal Principles, Menorah Pledge, AZA & BBG History and songs Election Procedures: Officer responsibilities, voting procedures, chairpeople and committees Meeting Procedures: planning an agenda and running a successful meeting Programming: AZA and BBG folds, brainstorming, step-by-step program planning, calendaring, program bank and program evaluation; international program initiatives Communication: verbal, non-verbal, listening, communicating with Chapter members, phone calls, social media and networking Membership: Where to find members, recruitment, making members feel welcome, new member training, steps for retention “How To” Sessions: parliamentary procedure, problem-solving, BBYO policies, public speaking, b-linked and youth dashboard training, and best practices 1
Registration Registration Fee and Cancellation Policy – Domestic programs only $250 deposit applied to program fee reserves spot. The registration fee includes all hotel accommodations, 3 meals per day, all programming and activities. The registration fee does not include transportation to/from the program. Each applicant will receive an automated invoice. All fees must be paid by April 30, 2013 Cancellation Fees: Cancellations on or before April 15, 2013 - Full refund Cancellations between April 16, 2013 and April 30, 2013 will lose $250 deposit Cancellations after April 30, 2013 – and up to one month prior to each program start date will lose $500 payment Cancellations one month prior to the program start date – No refunds are possible. Exceptions will be reviewed by BBYO on a case-by-case basis and decisions will be made at BBYO’s sole discretion. Note: We encourage all participants to purchase travel insurance. BBYO is not responsible for weather or airline related delays or canceled flights. *If you have extenuating circumstances a full refund may be requested by contacting Sabrina at smoore@bbyo.org and filling out the required form.
