On the other hand, in the single-bottleneck scenario, the number of sources that share<br />

the bottleneck link is more consistent than in the other n<strong>et</strong>work scenarios. Therefore, the<br />

impact of traffic prediction is not anymore negligible. This can be observed in Figures<br />

8.1(b) and 8.1(c), where the gap b<strong>et</strong>ween IBA and the heuristic algorithms is present for<br />

all offered loads.<br />

Finally, we note that, also in this scenario, the performance of the proposed dynamic<br />

bandwidth allocation algorithms (in particular, OBA) well approaches that of IBA, espe-<br />

cially for high n<strong>et</strong>work loads.<br />
