Youth Recreation<br />

Westonka Soccer Club<br />

Competitive Soccer for Ages 8-18<br />

The Westonka Soccer Club (WSC) is a member of the<br />

Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) and runs<br />

in partnership with Westonka Community Education and<br />

Services. Our focus is on providing an environment where<br />

players can develop their skills and technique, as well as<br />

team skills and sportsmanship. Our teams play competitive<br />

soccer at various age levels against teams from across the twin<br />

cities, but primarily in the West Metro. Teams will be formed<br />

after the registration process is complete. Practices will begin<br />

indoors in March with league games from May through July. Typically, teams<br />

meet two to three times per week. For more information about the club or to<br />

Registration<br />

The registration fee includes: registration to the WSC, MYSA and Community<br />

Education, MYSA Insurance, Referee fees, Coaching Education and Licensing, one<br />

Invitational Tournament, a Photo Package, U9-U10 includes an end-of-season trophy<br />

and the MYSA Jamboree, U11-U18 includes all District and State team playoff fees.<br />

All participants will register directly with the Westonka Soccer Club.<br />

Uniforms<br />

Uniforms are an additional fee of $75. Only new players will need to buy a uniform<br />

(returning players will be able to use the 2011 uniform). Players will also need to<br />

bring a soccer ball, soccer shoes, and shin guards to all games and practices.<br />

Tryouts<br />

Tryouts will occur as needed February 10-12. Any player who registers after<br />

January 31 will only be placed on a team if space permits. Team consolidation<br />

can occur at any age level based on level of participation. Advance notice of any<br />

changes will be given.<br />

Club Volunteer Support<br />

There is an expectation that every family volunteer in some way (coaching, team<br />

manager/co-manager, board member, picture organizer, fundraising support, etc).<br />

At a minimum each family is expected to be involved in our annual Soccer Blitz<br />

fundraising event in early May and the Club hosted District Tournament in July.<br />
