Administration of organized programs of primary and continuing education for front-line,
middle, and upper managers involved in the management of out-of-hospital healthcare
systems.
Development of department policies/procedures.
Preparation of strategic plans (short and long term).
Preparation of departmental budgets and annual objectives.
Annual performance appraisals for departmental staff.
Hiring and supervision of appropriate personnel to carry out the mission and assigned
tasks.
Monitoring income and expense through careful scrutiny of disbursements and review of
program financial statements.
Preparation of periodic reports concerning department activity and reconciliation of
department income/expense reports and projected budgets.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
R.N. required. Three years experience in out-of-hospital care within the last 5 years;
Experience working with adult learners in a vocational setting; Two years experience in an
administrative or management level position; are all requirements. Experience developing
budgets and strategic plans, as well as a bachelor's degree in a health related field or
education is preferred.
VERBAL & WRITTEN COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond
effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles
using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive
speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public
groups, and/or health care professionals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and
advanced algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and
proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as
exponents and logarithms. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as
frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance,
correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
