Application Procedures for CCM Paper Application
for Electronic Media beginning Fall 2012
Who should use this application form? Current UC students, prospective students who
already used UC Online Apply to apply for a non-CCM major, or in other special circumstances.
We encourage you to schedule an appointment to tour the Electronic Media facilities and
observe some classes. Contact CCM Admissions at 513-556-9479 or ccmadmis@uc.edu to
schedule an appointment. We also encourage you to visit the divisional Web site at
http://emedia.ccm.uc.edu and familiarize yourself with the curriculum before you apply.
Application Instructions:
Complete the CCM Paper Application, CCM Addendum and return with your application
fee in the form of a check for $60 payable to CCM Admissions. Use the 4 digit EMED
for Electronic Media on the application. Application deadline is December 1, 2011.
Admission to Electronic Media is based on GPA record, standardized test scores, two
letters of recommendation, and a personal 500-word applicant statement. If the
Electronic Media Division needs more information in order to complete the decisionmaking
process, you may be asked to interview either by phone or through a campus
visit.
500 Word Applicant Statement: You should use the essay to describe why you are
interested in the electronic media program and your professional goals. We would also
like you to tell us what aspects of a college education, beyond E-Media, are appealing to
you and why. You may e-mail to ccmadm3@ucmail.uc.edu or submit with this
application.
Two letters of recommendation from teachers, employers, or similarly qualified
individuals. Personal and professional qualifications should be emphasized. Ask
recommender to include your full name and birth date in the letter.
Your application must be complete before it can be reviewed.
Note that there is a computer requirement for accepted students (information is on the
E-Media website).

Thank you for your request for information about the Electronic Media Division of CCM. We appreciate your
interest in our program.
If you have already accumulated a substantial number of credits at UC, we suggest that you think carefully about
your decision to transfer. We want you to be aware that, although many of your credits may transfer into this
program, this will not necessarily expedite the time you’ll need to spend to get your degree.
It is likely that you will have to add additional semesters to your education in order to fulfill the E-Media Division’s
degree requirements. Moreover, you will need to enroll in freshman and sophomore level classes (pre-requisites)
before you will be allowed to advance to junior and senior level courses. Finally, there is no guarantee that you
will be able to enroll in a full course load in Electronic Media during any semester. Transferring to E-Media is
likely to add time and expense to your education.
I am telling you this up front so that if you are admitted to our program, you will experience no hardship you were
not prepared for.
I also remind you that we require incoming students to purchase a Mac laptop computer. Details of that requirement
are on our web site.
Please consider your transfer decision carefully. If you still feel that E-Media is your calling, we welcome your
application to our program.
