GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT REPORT, OF THE OUSTODIAN. December 31, 1912. Mr. John McWeeny, Gener.al S1tperintendenf of Police: Sir :-1 have' the honor to submit herewith a general summary of business covering the past year. From January 1st to December 31st" 1912, this office received 1,972 packages, consisting of money, jewelry, bicycles, clothing, trunks, revolvers, slot machines; junk, etc. All slot machines are immediately destroyed and the money taken oilt in the presence' of the officers and a receipt issued for same. No property is delivered or turned over to any person or persons except on orders issued by the· courts or by coinmandingofficers: All orders for the delivery of property and the receipts for same are on file at this office. Total number of packages received.................... 1,972 MONEY. 28 packages containing money, evidence on hand' '.- ... $ 810.02 76 packages containing money, evidence delivered .... 19,233.22 93 packages containing money, not evidence on hand.. 482.90 303 packages containing money, not evidence delivered. 13,639.86 600 $34,166.00 MERCHANDISE. 386 pkgs; containing mdse., evidence on hand ......... $17,174.46 191 pkgs. containing mdse., evidence deUvered ....... 60,368.34 222 pkgs. containing mdse., not evidence on hand..... 1,276.65 673 pkgs. containing mdse., not evidence delivered .... 11,566.73 1472 $80,386.18 During the past year there were 178 slot machines destroyed, con'taining $125.73. This office also destroyed 18 opium outfits, 150 packages of cocaine, 1 package of morphine, 1 package of ohscene pictures, 17 gambling boards, 13 poker tables, 1 wheel of fortune, 300 pairs of dice and 2,500 poker chips.
