Michels Funeral Was
Held Monday, July 20th
Funeral services for Bernard J.
(Ben) Micrels was held Monday at
9:30 a.m. from Deleiden's High Street
Mortuary. A solemn requiem funeral
Mass was offered at 10 a.m. at St.
Joseph Church. ,
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mr, Michels died Friday, 7-17, in
McHenry Hospital where he had been
taken after being injured Tuesday in
a one-car accident near McHenry.
He was a director anl vice president
of Aurora National Bank.
Mr. Michels was founder and president
of Michels Lumber Co., Harrel
Coal Co. and the Aurora Development
Co.
Mr. Michels was a member of St.
Joseph Holy Name Society, Serra
Club, Catholic Order of Foresters,
and W.C.U.
He was a past governor of Moose
Lodge 400, past president of the Lions
Club and a member of the Phoenix
Club, Luxembourg Club, American
Legion, Elks Lodge 705 and K. of
C. Council 736.
He also was a member of the St.
Charles Hospital Lay Board and the
Manmon Mil i tar/ Academy Development
Board.
Surviving are his wilow, Marie
K.; four sons, Robert, Arthur, and
Bernard Jr. of Aurora and James of
Oklahoma; one daughter, Mrs. Cornelius
(Anna Marie) Avram of Aurora;
three sisters, Mrs. Rose Weber,
Mrs. Catherine Steichen and Mrs.
William (Margaret) Nickels all of
Aurora. ,
Mr. Michels who was born in Aurora
on Oct. 10, 1896, was preceded
in death by his parents; one brother,
John R.; and one sister, Mrs. Mary
Kokart.
A nephew, Rev. Fr. Norbert Webber,
will officiate at the funeral Mass
Monday.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 and
8:30 p.m. today and Sunday in the
mortuary where friends may call after
7 p.m. tolay.
Memorials may be made to the
Marmion building fund or St. Joseph
Church building fund.
