Hello Everyone,
I would like to share the new and upcoming restructuring that is occurring throughout the Adaptive & Senior
Programs. The Exercise programs provided at the Fairbanks Senior Centers and North Pole Santa Senior Center,
Walking Club, and the famous outings will remain in place. Georgia will be the smiling face working with
you and you will continue to phone in to the same contact number, 459-1136. The newest involvement will be
that you will now have contact from Tiffany Corrigan regarding the senior programs and issues. We are all
working together to provide the same quality services our Borough has in the past with the best efficiency and
staff.
Also for your information, we will be sending you July/August Calendars in this newsletter so be sure to keep

From June 29th to July 22th, the Big Dipper Ice Arena will be closed for yearly maintenance. The Walking Club
will continue; however, we will relocate for those 3 weeks. If the weather is nice, the Walking Club will meet at
Pioneer Park. If there is rain, we will walk indoors at the Bentley Mall. Note, there is no change to the time, just
the location.
There is a new policy involving the distribution of Senior Farmer’s Market Coupons that are available at the
Fairbanks Senior Center as well as North Pole Santa’s Senior Center. At each of the facilities there is an Eligibility
Form that defines the guidelines to qualify for the coupons. The application requiring that you have a photo
ID, are an Alaskan resident, and over 60 yrs. of age and is available for you to fill out . Available is a handout
with the participating school gardens and their marketing hours which allows you to redeem your coupons also.
On July 6th, Breakfast Club will head out to North Pole Little Richard’s Diner and visit Santa’s Senior Center
before returning back to Fairbanks. You will be able to visit, shop in their gift shop, or participate in their exercise
class. Shopping will be on July 11th and August 1st. We will attend the BP Golden Citizens’ Luncheon on
Thursday, July 19th. July 25th and August 22nd, we’re going to the Farmer’s Market, August 8th, we will enjoy
the nice Fred Meyer sponsored senior event during the fair and August 17th we will take in a movie. So please
specify which events you would like to sign up for when you call in .
PROGRAM NOTE/MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
The offices will be closed and no programs will run on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day.
No programs on July 19th so we can attend the BP Golden Citizens’ Luncheon at Pioneer Park.

There will be no meeting of the Senior Citizens Advisory Commission for the month of July. The next meeting will
be held Thursday, August 16, 2012, starting at noon. Meetings are held in the conference room located upstairs at
the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
