RESPECT LIFE
‘It comes within the meaning of religious freedom that religious
communities should not be prohibited from freely undertaking to
show the special inspiration of the whole of human activity.
Finally, the social nature of man and the very nature of religion
afford the foundation of the right of men freely to hold meetings
and to establish educational, cutltural, charitable and social
organizations, under the impulse of their own religious sense.”
OUR CCD PROGRAM:
Everything went well during the academic year and the
programs for the sacramental grades received great acclaim. We
are very grateful to Mrs. Donna Parent, our Coordinator of
Religious Education and to her wonderful teachers who show so
much interest in the religious education of our children. To Mrs.
Cheryl Venné, who acts also as the Secretary for our program, for
her concern and wonderful work, to all of our helpers as teachers,
and to so many others for their help. Also, we are especially
grateful to the parents who do so much to see to the religious
education of our young people. And we thank God also for the
many wonderful people who are in any way involved. God Bless
all of you and I will remember all of you and yours in my prayers.
THE WEEKEND OF MAY 12th, MR. PAUL BORK, A
REPSENTATIVE OF THE MARYKNOLL FATHERS:
Will speak on their behalf. MARYKNOLL is the Catholic
Foreign Mission Society of the U.S. They bring God’s Word to
foreign nations, not only in word alone, but by concrete
actions...by feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, giving shelter
to the homeless, and comforting the oppressed.
The second collection goes entirely for their work. Also, Mr.
Bork will be happy to talk to any parishioner interested in doing
overseas mission work as a Maryknoll Priest, Sister, brother or
lay minister. Please be generous.
MAY, THE MONTH OF MARY
‘Mary the Mother of God’...AS THE MOTHER OF
THE SON OF GOD, MARY IS THE MOTHER OF
THE LIFE THAT WE LIVE. Which means she is the
mother of our life of faith. FAITH IS A DIVINE
GIFT that enables us to open our hearts and minds to
God’s word, just as a mother opens herself to the
miracle of life in the womb. Faith makes us desire,
know and love God, and to receive his love as a gift. THROUGH
MARY’S MATERNAL MEDIATION, WE BEG FOR A
CONSTANT REBIRTH OF FAITH. Intensify your devotion
to our Lady during this month and help spread devotion to
Her to our little ones.
