VRIOGS 001 Revision B 23 SECTION 10.0 Structure Gauge Envelopes – for new or existing Infrastructure adjacent to, or in the Air Space over Tram tracks and Tramstop Platforms The Structure Gauge Envelope for new or existing Infrastructure adjacent to, or in the Air Space over tram tracks and tram stop platforms is outlined in standard drawings STD_T9000 Revision A and STD_T0306 Revision B. The referenced standard drawings can be accessed through the Public Transport Victoria Drawing Management System at: https://dms.ptv.vic.gov.au/ The clearances outlined in the referenced drawings are for straight track only and an additional lateral distance, varying up to 600mm, is required on curves. A table for the additional clearances required for curved track is located on standard drawing STD_T0306 Revision B. If this is not used then the additional distance needs to be calculated and approved by the ARO. NOTE: This document is controlled only when viewed on the VRIOG Engineering Standards website. VRIOGS 001 Revision B 24 SECTION 11.0 Rolling Stock Centre and End Throw and Cant Effect For curved track with a radius of less than 1300 metres, allowance shall be made for the effect of track Cant and of rolling stock Centre and End Throw to determine the structure gauge envelope outline on a curved track. On an inside of a curved track the Centre Throw (Ct) and the Cant Effect shall be added to the minimum horizontal clearances outlined in this document. On the outside of a curved track the End Throw (Et) shall be added to, and the Cant Effect subtracted from, the minimum horizontal clearances outlined in this document. Note that the horizontal clearances outlined in this document are the minimum that shall apply. Any figure that may be calculated below this shall not apply. 11.1 Rolling Stock Centre and End Throw The equations outlined below can be used to determine the additional rolling stock centre and end throw on curved track that is to be applied to the minimum structure gauge envelope.
