ANZAC Day Tradition
Over the past five years representatives from the
West Adelaide Football Club have attended the dawn
service at Hilton RSL. This year players and officials
from our CoE team attended the service and laid
a wreath to honour those who have served our
country. Tonight we have representatives from the
Hilton and Plympton Glenelg RSL in attendance.
Did you know that West Adelaide & Glenelg Football
Clubs combined to participate in the Patrotic League
in 1942-44!
West Adelaide to host State Game
Next week City Mazda Stadium plays host to the SANFL
vs NEAFL state game. All members and supporters
are encouraged to come along to City Mazda Stadium
and support our State representatives. At present
we have five league players in the West End State
Squad - Ryan Ferguson, Chris Schmidt, Daniel Caire,
Joel Tippett and Jonathon Beech.
*West Adelaide members please note that your
membership privileges in regards to car parking and
entry into City Mazda Stadium are not valid for the
state game.
Westonians Raffle
The Westonians Raffle is back! This year the
1st prize is a trip for four to the AFL Grand Final
including airfares and accommodation. This is
a unique opportunity to participate in one of
Australia‘s great events on the sporting calendar.
Tickets are $10 each with all proceeds going to the
West Adelaide Football Club.
Foot-e Times SA
West Adelaide members can access
the Foot-e Times produced by
Phil Herden and his crew, from
our website. It is a great
publication dedicated
solely to the SANFL
competition.

New-look Cheerleaders
The WAFC Cheerleaders would like to extend a big
thank you to their new sponsor, Wayne Turnbull
and his team at Adelaide Image Printing for
contributing to their new costumes for 2013.
The girls also extend their thanks to the Westonians
and MGM Catering for their continued support as
sponsors.
Keep and eye out for the girls who will be
walking around this evening selling tickets for the
Westonians raffle!
Membership Update
We are slowly climbing towards our membership
target of 2000 financial members. If you are not
already a member please consider joining!
Purchase a Membership before half time of the
league game and you will go into the running to
win a new reversible guernsey, valued at $100!

If you are one of the lost members then please
reconsider supporting the Club.
Scoreboard
After 3 years of intermittent problems with
the scoreboard we think we have finally found
the fault thanks to Wylie Johnstone from I A
Electronics. Apparently the signal from the mobile
phone tower in the area has been interfering with
the electronics. Over the next couple of weeks we
hope to have the scrolling function operational so
we can provide other match results.
School Holiday Coaching Clinic
Last week over 100 primary school children
attended our two day April school holiday
coaching clinic organised by Daniel Joyce (SANFL
Development Officer) and supported by senior
players Brad Mangan, Daniel Webb, Joel Tippett
and Michael Still.
Over the past four years the Club has worked
extremely hard to promote this program within
our promotional zones with record numbers
attending this year’s clinics.
We also believe our program is the largest amongst
all SANFL Clubs. We look forward to seeing these
children become our next generation of West
Adelaide champions.

West Adelaide BBQ
We all recognise the West Adelaide BBQ as the best
in the SANFL and we thank the BBQ crew for their
ongoing support of the Club. Popularity of the
BBQ is growing!
Women’s Football Update
The West Adelaide Women’s Team are approaching
their first home game of the season on Mother’s
Day - May 12th vs Modbury, 2:00pm at City Mazda
Stadium. Entry is free and we would love to see
some new faces get out to support the Women’s
team who are chasing their fourth premiership in
a row in season 2013!

Position at WAFC: Marketing & Events Officer
Nickname: G, Geanes, GG, Cimo
Background: I have been working for WAFC for
7 years and have been involved with the Club for
over 20 years. I started working for the Bloods when
I was 18 in the main bar before moving into the
function department as the Function Coordinator. I
recently changed roles and have been working as the
Marketing and Events Officer and have been loving
the challenge.
Interests: Travelling, Shopping, Reading, Footy,
Dancing, Chatting and Food.
Fun fact: I started cheerleading for WAFC when I was
13 and have been the choreographer for 3 years.
