POST GRAGUTE PROGRAMMES-2010-2011
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
JSPM group of institution has more than 25 different institutes providing quality
education from KG to PG. Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering (RSCOE) is the first
institute founded by JSPM in 2001. RSCOE is the well known institute in Pune
University and Maharastra state for its academic excellence.
POST GRAGUATE PROGRAMMS:
1. M.E (Mechanical) Heat Power 18 Seats
2. M.E. (Electronics) Digital System 18 Seats
3 M. E. (Civil) Structures 18 seats
2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Candidates will be considered eligible for admission to various M.E. Courses on
the basis of their qualifying examination as detailed below:

3. GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
3.1 The rules shall apply for admission to full time postgraduate courses in Rajarshi
Shahu College of engineering Pune.
3.2 Structure, Syllabus, examination scheme & duration of these courses shall be as
prescribed by the University of Pune.
3.3 Normal intake to the above courses will be ten for GATE/Non Sponsored candidates.
Besides this two extra seats for Scheduled Caste (SC) and one seat for Scheduled
Tribe (ST) candidates shall be allocated.
3.4 In addition to this there are five seats for each course specially meant for sponsored
candidates.

3.5 The distribution of Seats for various categories is as shown in the Table below.

3.6 Candidates claiming for reserved seats will be required to produce a Caste certificate
from appropriate authority.
3.7 Candidates belonging to SC or ST category of backward class from any region of the
country will be eligible for admission. The candidate will have to pay the total fees
at the time of admission. In case the candidate obtains grant from respective state
government, tuition fee will be refunded.
3.8 No reservation will be provided for sponsored category. However, preference will be
given to candidates from reserved category in case of equal merit.
3.7 Candidate is required to submit GATE score card, B.E./B.Tech. final year Mark
sheet, Nationality certificate, leaving certificate and marriage certificate if any at the
time of admission in original.
3.8 Authority of Admission is with “Principal, Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering,
Pune”
3.9 No Hostel accommodation will be provided to post graduate students.
3.10 Student while studying in the institute , if found indulging in anti- national
activities contrary to the provisions of act and laws enforced by the Government ,
any activity contrary to rules of discipline will be liable to expel from the institute
without any notice by the Principal of the institute.
3.11 If any of the statements made in the application form, any information supplied by
the candidates in connection with his/her admission is later on, at any time found to
be false or incorrect, his/her admission will be cancelled. Fees will be forfeited and
he/she may be expelled from the institute by the Principal and prosecuted , if deemed
necessary. An appeal against order of expulsion however may be referred to the
Director of Technical Education, Maharastra State, whose decision in such cases will
be final.
4. ADMISSION TO NON SPONSERED CANDIDATES
Admission of non sponsored candidates to full time postgraduate degree courses
in Engineering / Technology.
4.1 Eligibility:
As mentioned in Serial No.2
4.2 Admission procedure

4.2.1 Admission will be strictly as per the merit list prepared on the basis of valid
GATE score in the respective branch only. GATE qualified candidates will be
given stipend by as per AICTE norms.
4.2.2 When enough GATE qualified candidates in the respective branch are not
available, the vacant seats will be offered to the non GATE candidates, as per
merit based on total marks secured in the entrance test and interview conducted
by the institute.
4.2.3 The entrance test will be based on the syllabus of respective undergraduate
courses of Pune University.
4.2.4 The Test will be conducted at RSCOE , Pune in the respective departments.
4.2.5 Fresh candidates whose results are not declared can also apply. Their
admission shall be confirmed after they qualify the minimum eligibility condition
as mentioned in serial No.2.
5. ADMISSION TO SPONSERED CANDIDATES
Admission to sponsored category candidates to Full time post graduate degree
courses in Engineering and Technology.
5.1 Eligibility
5.1.1 As mentioned in Serial No.2
5.2 Candidates must be a regular employee of a registered Firm/company/industry/
educational or research institute/any Government department or Government
autonomous organization in relevant field in which admission is sought.
5.3 A letter in prescribed format must be furnished stating that the candidate is being
Sponsored to seak admission to the post graduate degree program by the employer.
5.4 Only those candidates who are working in an organization will be eligible for
claiming seats against sponsored category.
5.5 If the total performance of the candidate is comparable, then the preference will be
given to candidates who are GATE qualified , serving in Engineering college,
Polytechnic and Industry in this order.
5.5 Admission procedure ;
As mentioned in Serial No.4.2
5.6 Reserved Seats
No reservation will be provided to sponsored candidates. However, preference
will be given to candidates of reserved category in case of equal merit.
The Schedule of the entrance test will be displayed on website www.jspm.edu.in
6. HOW TO APPLY:
The prescribed application form is available on the website www.jspm.edu.in.
Downloaded application form along with DD of Rs. 500/- in favour of “Principal
Rajarshi Shahu College of engineering, Pune” payable at Pune should reach the
college office before 15 days of the release of advertisement. Also application form is
available in college office during working hours on payment of Rs500/-.

7. CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION:
7.1 If the candidate desires to cancel his or her admission for any reason whatsoever
during the admission process , he or she shall be allowed to do so and it will be
presumed that admission is cancelled at that stage.
7.2 No fee will be refunded to the candidate. It will be considered as cancellation charges.
7.3 Leaving certificate will be returned to candidate at the time of cancellation of
admission.
8. Undertaking :
All candidates of Post Graduate course in Engineering & Technology are required to give
following undertaking.
8.1 I have read all the rules of admission of current year and after understanding these
rules, I have filled the application form of the current year.
8.2 All the information given in this form is correct to the best of my knowledge and
belief.
8.3 I have not been debarred from appearing at any examination held by any Government
constituted or statutory examination authority in India.
8.4 I fully understand that the offer of a course or branch of engineering will be made
depending on merit inter-se and availability of seats at the time of scrutiny of my
application.
8.5 I understand that no other document, other than those attached to the application
form before the last date of admission will be entertained for the purpose of claims
/concession etc. in connection with my admission.
8.6 I hereby agree and undertake to confirm to any rules, acts and laws enforced by
Government as long as I am a student of this Institute. I will do nothing either inside
or outside the Institute which will result in disciplinary action against me under the
rules, acts and laws . I fully understand that The Principal of the Institute will have
right to rexpel/rusticate me from the Institute for any infringement of the rules of
conduct and discipline prescribed by the Institute/University .
