5. Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs /<br />
improvements<br />
The teaching faculty and the students of the college are deeply involved in continuous<br />
improvement of the academic standard. This involvement is a continuous process which<br />
takes place through the following forums.<br />
1. Department wise student’s organizations.<br />
2. Department wise meetings of Guardian Faculty Members with the students (periodic)<br />
3. Departmental faculty meetings on weekly basis.<br />
4. Meetings of heads of the dept. with Principal on weekly basis.<br />
5. Meetings of departmental faculty with Principal on monthly basis.<br />
6. Representation of faculty members in local management committee. The meetings of<br />
all these forums take place regularly and minutes are maintained.<br />
7. Conducting periodical test sand industrial visits for the students.<br />
8. Arranging extra lecturers for the students who are weak in some subjects.<br />
9. Arranging expert lectures from the field personalities.<br />

6. Mechanism / Norms & Procedure for democratic / good Governance<br />
The management and administration of the college is totally transparent. Principal conducts<br />
meetings of all department heads every week and as and when required for solving regular<br />
difficulties and continuous improvement in organization.<br />
All issues related to the academic development, carrier development of teachers,<br />
development of infrastructure, training and placement of students are thoroughly discussed in<br />
the regular departmental meetings as well as meetings of staff with the principal, before<br />
implementation at the college level.<br />
7. Student Feedback on Institutional Governance / faculty performance<br />
The student’s feedback on the institutional aspects and faculty performance is obtained at the<br />
end of each term that is twice in a year. This feedback is based on certain aspects of staff<br />
such as punctuality, regularity, communication skill, and knowledge of the respective subject<br />
of the teaching staff. The feedback is analyzed at the level of heads of the department and<br />
corrective measures are taken whenever required.<br />
In addition to this a suggestion box is kept in the administrative office for the students where<br />
the students are free to give their opinion.<br />
8. Grievance redressal mechanisms for faculty, staff and students<br />
The institute is affiliated to the University of Pune. The university already has a grievance<br />
redressal mechanism for the faculty /staff and students. However at the institute level,<br />
grievance redressal committee has been formed to deal with the day to day as well as urgent<br />
problems of the faculty/staff, students.<br />

Term Work:<br />
1. Term work shall consist of TWO design projects. Each design project shall consist of two<br />
imperial size sheets –one involving assembly drawing with a part list and overall<br />
dimensions and other sheet involving drawings of individual components. Manufacturing<br />
tolerances, surface finish symbols and geometric tolerances should be specified so as to<br />
make it working drawing. A design report giving all necessary calculations of the design<br />
of components and assembly should be submitted in a separate file.<br />
Design projects should be in the form of ‘Design of Mechanical System’ comprising of<br />
machine elements studied and topics covered in the syllabus. Design data book shall be<br />
used wherever necessary to achieve selection of standardized components.<br />

Internal Continuous Evaluation System in place<br />
o The Institute follows rigorous continuous assessment of the academic work which<br />
includes attendance of the students in theory and practical, submission of assignments<br />
and term work completion of the course work.<br />
o Above record of continuous assessment are covered under Academic Progress Report<br />
Book. Each faculty member records in this book. This book is weekly checked by<br />
concerned Head weekly.<br />
o Strict follow-up of attendance is taken on daily basis. Absentee of student is<br />
immediately brought to the notice of his/her parents by Guardian faculty member on<br />
the same day. Each Guardian faculty member takes care of 15 students .Letters are<br />
sent to the defaulter students at the end of every month.<br />
o To control the attendance of the students we do not permit the students to leave the<br />
college campus without prior permission of proper authority and this permission is<br />
given, in cases of genuine reason only.<br />
Student assessment of faculty, System in place.<br />
The feedback about the faculty from the students is taken twice in a Academic year<br />
i.e. once in every Semester. According to the remarks suggested by the students the<br />
faculty is advised to do the necessary corrections in the teaching learning process.<br />
This helps the Institute to maintain a healthy relationship between staff and students<br />
and also results in better performance of the students in every subject.<br />
